Making Bluetooth work on my B650 motherboard
Posted by HidalgoJose@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 21 comments
Hi all. My mobo is this one: Asus TUF Gaming B650M-Plus WiFi. It has Bluetooth 5.2.
- Bluetooth chip is detected by Win 11 Device Manager, and it's up-to-date and operational.
- Bluetooth is ON via Win 11 settings
- All Bluetooth services are activated (checked via services.msc).
- Despite all that, Win 11 can't detect any of my Bluetooth devices (smartphone, gaming pad...). When adding a new Bluetooth device, nothing appears. Absolutely nothing.
- I should add that with an old Win 7 PC, all my Bluetooth devices are detected. The problem lies with my Win 11 desktop PC.
My question is: does Bluetooth require the external Wi-Fi antenna to be connected? Right now it isn't because I'm using Ethernet.
And if it's not antenna-related, what am I missing?
My Win 11 23H2 is up-to-date with all the latest stuff, just checked today.
Thank you.

same issue, my pc is right in front of me and BT headphones and controllers barely connect, i have a usb wifi extender since the mobo didnt come with wifi antennas (its supposed to)

My BT controller and headphones on my new build also barely connect. I'll go search for driver updates again.
Did you find anything that worked?

For those who are still looking for a solution, install Armoury Crate app from ROG and register your mobo. Once it's in, you can see all the drivers to install to get your wifi working. Hope this helps.
Tux_kodi@reddit
came to comment this, today installed drivers via Armoury crate - and no issues

Great. Now I only need to find a way to install such drivers WITHOUT the piece of crap that's called Armoury Crate. Thanks though.
Daswer24@reddit
Did it work?!?
HidalgoJose@reddit (OP)
There's an alternative solution: ASUS DriverHub. Google it and try it.

This worked for me finally

The antenna is not just a "Wi-Fi antenna"
Bluetooth needs it too
HidalgoJose@reddit (OP)
Thanks! Will try soon. I guess it will solve the issue.
Ok_Cap8999@reddit
Did it tho?
HidalgoJose@reddit (OP)
Connecting the antenna and rebooting didn't solve the issue:
I have tried downloading the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for my motherboard.
But those drivers won't install. When I click on AsusSetup.exe, UAC asks me if I agree, then I agree, then... nothing happens. Absolutely nothing.
I'm lost here.

Did you ever solve this? Having the very same issue with my PC right now
Seraph_007@reddit
Can't get BT to work either. Have you figured it out? SUPER frustrating.
