[generations] After the battle of Veridian 3 how badly do you think riker got roasted by other captains?

You know how after the battle of Veridian 3 where the enterprise -d got destroyed by a 20 year old bird of prey I wondered a few things.
-
Picard didn't really get angry with riker. Like I left the ship to you and you wrecked it?

After the court martial we know riker survives it do you think other captains ever let riker live it down regarding losing a galaxy class ship to a 20 year old bird of prey?
What do you think?

Hardly.
He was able to overcome an advantage the Duras sisters had via the shield frequency. He then kept the ship intact as the Enterprise D was attacked and was receiving hull breaches.
Riker was able to destroy the BOP and then successfully separate the saucer section after a full evacuation of the drive section.
Everything else was just excellent leadership to keep the saucer section intact as an emergency landing was initiated.

This one's tricky, because what you say up there is clearly what the film wants us to believe.
But doing so requires ignoring that if the Enterprise had simply kept returning fire, she could have overcome the B-o-P's shields and destroyed it much faster than she actually did (which would have saved her; The fatal damage was done by "that last torpedo").
I personally think that the reason Riker was stuck in the First Officer's chair for another seven years is because that's how long Starfeet took to re-gain confidence in him after this debacle. In fact, he probably would have had a hard time getting a another first officer's spot, but Picard specifically wanted him.

Picard, Riker, Crusher, Geordi, (and whoever else checked Geordi) and Data were all highly questionable.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't know that there's all that much to blame Riker for. The idea that enemy weaponry when correctly aligned to a single frequency was enough to completely penetrate the ship's shields seems like it was on the ship's designers. Or the writers, haha.
Also, the fact that Geordi (or any other captured crewmember) could be tampered with and then successfully pass through whatever inspection sensor protocol seems like a failure of SF's standard quarantine security.
It seems like this is yet another case of things which made just enough sense when originally watching the ep / movie, but don't stand up well in retrospect.

I mean the Enterprise has been on the other side of that "bigger and badder" fight plenty.

Sounds like a plot for Lower Decks
