South America 2-3 month solo trip cost? Where to stay?

Alright so in the title basically wondering the rough costs if I was to be travelling around South America for 2-3 months, I’m a 28 year old male from Australia I’ve had a shocking start to the year I had to put down my dog then 3 weeks later my brother killed himself 2 days before my bday and lost the relationship with my mum , I have always had drug and alcohol addiction since teenage days,I have had 4 attempts this year already with the last one a week ago, I’m going to rehab in a few months and I’ve always wanted to travel South America I don’t have any places that interest me in sight seeing I just basically want to live it up being on the beach all day and partying just trying to block out all the dark thoughts in my mind 24/7 and then when I return go straight into rehab because my plan is once I go thru with it I’m going to stay clean forever so it’s something I’ve always wanted to go do and think this is my final chance to go do it before a big life change, what are the areas with good beaches and party scenes and where to stay that are good to meet people but would rather have my own room not sharing I probably will allow $20k or so , I went to Thailand last year solo for 10 days and spent $11k but I know that South America is meant to be a lot cheaper will this be enough? Any tips on places to go places to stay and about the holiday please let me know thank you

Go to rehab first.
11k for 10 days you have some impulse control issues.
Other wise I’d say stick to SEA for 20k South America ain’t that cheaper if you want to party on a beach. Though that will only get you 20 days.

Agreed. I spent $6000 on two months in Scandinavia. 11k should have lasted a whole year in SE Asia. Can’t imagine blowing that in 10 days anywhere! 😳

Normally I would say $20k is way more than you'd need for 2-3 months in S. America but if you managed to spend >$1000/day in Thailand it may not be.
