Visiting the area soon, great BBQ places to try?

Will be in the greater DFW area in a few weeks (specifically in Wylie). Any really good BBQ joints I should check out while I'm there? Open to anything but I particularly like pulled pork and brisket.

Lockhart in Downtown Plano is good as well when the pit master is on

If you're going to be in Wylie, don't eat the BBQ there. Don't go to Bold BBQ or Dickies. Don't eat BBQ at Buc'ees or Spring Creek BBQ. None of it is worth the stomach real estate.
Here are some suggestions for places around Wylie that won't get mentioned commonly:
Smoke Sessions BBQ in Royce City
Wood And Time Smokehouse BBQ - Farmersville
Redwine's BBQ Eats & Sweets - Farmersville
Fire For the Lord BBQ - this is a trailer that moves around sometimes. Follow them on Facebook.
Ten50 BBQ in Richardson gets a lot of hate but it's good.
Hutchins BBQ in Frisco is excellent.
Depends on how far you're willing to travel. There are other good places even further away. But if you're not wanting to venture far from Wylie, you're in for disappointment.

always love smoke sessions

Adding Meshack's Bar-B-Que in Garland. They're kinda flaky though. I've visited during open hours and they were closed.

The original Hutchins is in McKinney - why drive all the way to Frisco?
SeventyFix@reddit
Is it open again? It burned, twice. I kinda gave up on that location.

Intrinsic in Garland is close, and they have a brewery.

The original Hutchins in McKinney. It’s the best BBQ in the Metroplex and it’s 20 minutes north of Wylie. Don’t miss it!

Hutchins Mckinney

Hutchins in McKinney is top notch, but there is usually a line. Linkes in downtown Wylie is almost as good, with no line.

I'm going to give Linke's a try this weekend. Sounds promising.

Highest rated spots in the metroplex are Goldee’s, Panther City, Cattleack, Zavala’s, Smoke’n Ash, and Hutchins. Honestly, just look up the Texas Monthly Top 50 list or the Michelin Guide and you’ll get an idea of what’s high end.

Hutchins like the other poster said. Slow bone - check their open times they are only open certain days and times. Go early to both!
