Impreza and Crosstrek on the list, plus a bonus WRX. What is it about Subaru? I get the WRX, but the other two are very basic economy vehicles. Can someone explain?

My generous speculation... Subarus tend to be bought more frequently in places with harsh winters. More snow and ice = more frequent accidents. My less generous speculation... They're appliance cars for the granola crowd and it wouldn't shock me at all that stereotype of driver is accident prone.

Both your speculations sound plausible to me. I live on a ski-hill, and every other vehicle is a Subaru. There are constant accidents all winter long. The appliance driver is also a thing. I have seen so many AWD Subaru's that are only equipped with two winter tires, usually on the rear end. I don't know what kind of driving lore is prompting that decision. But it's almost a daily sight.
