I'm not fully sold on PhD and staying in academia unless I find a project that really interests me. Where do you all look for PhD opportunities?

I have a US citizenship but don't live there now, would it make sense to move back to the US and start searching for jobs? What jobs might I be eligible for? Where do you all find jobs? And what kind of jobs were you able to get with a masters?

Would love to stay in something marine conservation related (or - anything that makes ok money) with future prospects. Thanks!
