The best way to prepare for drones is start reading on radio tech and electronic warfare. Join a “hacking sub” and find information on making a 2.4Ghz jammer, then start looking into other common drone frequencies. Then buy a shotgun with birdshot. This opens so many doors and makes drones and their control seem less like black magic and more just like a piece of tech that can be fucked with and defeated. Just my two cents
roboconcept@reddit
I think the future is going to require community level ability to maintain signal jammed spaces and operate within them old school
time to study semaphore flags I guess
Hawkeye3636@reddit
One note was reading about how some drones are AI piloted now so no need for the control or 2.4ghz connections.
Luca_h@reddit
Absolutely true, and this can be said for any autonomous drone. They are/will be much harder to deal with. While they're just as susceptible to birdshot as any other drone, detecting them is very difficult. I think that preparing for them is essentially the same though: learn about drone technology and break down the systems involved. Maybe even make/buy your own...

These are currently slaughtering women and children in Gaza.
You can pick which side you want to support.
steffansk8@reddit
It doesn’t need to be “which side” you want to support. This isn’t football. Woman and children are raped and slaughtered on both sides of the border. There are innocent civilians in both places. What you should support is installing non-extremist leadership by supporting rationale voices in both societies.
the_good_daze@reddit
Actually insane that this is being downvoted. If only more people had this view, then maybe there’d be an actual chance of peace.
the_good_daze@reddit
Is there any actual evidence of this? Why has nobody linked an actual source?
ohyeahwell@reddit
Here you go, articles came out about it yesterday.
the_good_daze@reddit
The source is one guy who says he saw it happening?
Mychatbotmakesmecry@reddit
This place is filled with Russian and Iranian trolls. Narrative is kill all the Jews and America bad. Russia good.
FundamentalFailson@reddit
The source is NPR actually, not “some guy”. Why even ask for the source if you’re immediately going to work toward discrediting one of the most reliable news sources there is? Maybe you have an ulterior motive? I’m thinking so.
the_good_daze@reddit
But NPR is citing one guy….
ohyeahwell@reddit
If you read or listen to the article they cite many eyewitnesses across all professions and nationalities.
Here's the last paragraph of the three paragraph article:
the_good_daze@reddit
Read the article. Where is the collection of eye witness accounts? I checked for other sources myself since none were provided here. News outlets reporting on this story seem to only be citing the same guy mentioned in the NPR article.
I am genuinely asking this question- Is there any other scenario in which we would accept one eye witness account and run with it as fact across the board? People can think I have all the ulterior motive and bias they want, but maybe check your own bias once in a while.
ohyeahwell@reddit
Sorry, I listened to the 12 minute article and they sited many people. This is the end of the road for me, either put in some effort or drop it.
FundamentalFailson@reddit
They have no interest in having a good faith discussion. Bad hasbara.
the_good_daze@reddit
Who is “they”? And genuinely curious how any of my comments in this thread are considered hasbara….
Ash_Tray420@reddit
Literally the definition of hasbara is exactly what you are doing. Just because you are Jewish doesn’t mean you have to support Israel.
the_good_daze@reddit
I also listened to the article, which states that “reporters haven’t been able to witness this themselves” and cites 2 others who allegedly saw this happening and the proof is the sound of gunshots… dude seriously?
the_good_daze@reddit
Is there any actual evidence of this? Why has nobody linked an actual source?
No-Breadfruit-4555@reddit
I hope John Connor is safe, we gonna need him pretty soon.

Foucault's boomerang will be fucked this time.
drdewm@reddit
That damn game looks addictive. Nope not going anywhere near it.
the_good_daze@reddit
How do you know these are being used in Gaza?
-TheycallmeThe@reddit
The ad I got on this thread.
rehtlaw@reddit
Horrific. Only a matter of time before some activists start camping outside their facilities and protesting
KheyotecGoud@reddit
Slaughterbots was an inspiring short story to the developer of this weapon.

Well that's incredibly primitive and would be very easy to make at home (the biggest hurdle would be the budget of the drone, but otherwise it's just an upside down AR platform rifle and some simple robotics) Also, they need better gimbals on that based on the wobble in the footage.
Few-Assistant6392@reddit (OP)
The hardware may be primitive, but AI targeting is most likely being used. Civilians, children, all targets being hit. Reported by NPR
rmannyconda78@reddit
Even a older model drone can be used as a terrifying weapon, pictured is what looks to be a dji m600, an older drone but still has some serious heavy lift capabilities.
01010110_@reddit
Well yeah the use is truly horrific. But the human segmentation is also quite primitive and also something you could do at home in a couple of days with readily available open source tech.
It's awful and disgusting, but the whole thing is surprisingly primitive.
Top_Taste4396@reddit
Awesome!

Also, these things seem to use use FLIR cameras which are hard to hide from as they see your infrared heat through smoke and dust. However, a thick wool blanket and/or mylar should be pretty effective at hiding your heat profile from them if ever you were unlucky enough to encounter them.
