Need advice

Currently enrolled in a part 141 school where they mostly hire their own students. I’m a woman who is lgbt. The chief cfi at my school is also lgbt and a woman. I really would like to work at this school since it’s in my hometown and would just be the best outcome for me. I get very strange signals from my CFI… sometimes I can’t tell if she is hitting on me. She’s also constantly talking about her gf who happens to be the same race as me. (Usually about our race) I can’t tell if I’m looking into it too much or if I should just give up on wanting to work here and find a different school to cfi for. Is it worth the trouble? What would you do?

Don't take this the wrong way, but in the future I would veer away from topics regarding sexuality, religion, anything political, and what not...
I have nothing against about peoples views/beliefs/sexual preferences, but there are a lot of old school racist/sexist/homophobic people in this industry still, and including any extra info might hurt your chances of getting the dream job you want.
However, you're probably just overthinking things. Just set boundaries and keep it a professional relationship. This also falls on your CFI/flight school.

This is an anonymous forum and OP was specifically asking about an issue related to being LGBT. This is not work. Also some of us are visibly LGBT and just existing counts as "bringing it up". I hope you don't think you're being supportive with this post.

He’s talking about them possibly bringing up their identity at the flight school, not this Reddit post.

I teach at a 141. Just say her teaching style doesn’t match your learning style, and ask for a different cfi. It’s pretty common for students to switch cfi’s. We encourage students to fly with other instructors. If the way I explain things isn’t making sense to you and her way is, ask for her to be your instructor. Your chief shouldn’t give you any crap about it.

sorry I must have worded it strange. The cfi I am talking about is also the chief of the school. She teaches us in a classroom setting whereas the lower seniority cfis will teach us in the plane/sims. I’d have to complete switch schools.

Chances are said CFI will be out for bigger and better things when you become a CFI.
But, what?

doubt it she’s been there for years and has a basic med.
