Help with foot positioning?

I have tried the “old fashioned way” by placing my foot directly in front of the brake but it gives me hip pain when I hit the accelerator because my leg is rotated out for too long. I know a lot of people say to try placing it in between brake and accelerator but the same exact thing happens. Right now I’ve been putting my foot directly in front of the accelerator because it’s much more comfortable but braking makes me nervous because I only cover half of the pedal using this method. I feel like I’m losing my mind! Please help!

I've never really paid any attention to my foot placement. My foot is slightly to the right of the break, and I just use my heel as a pivot point.
Provided you're not double footing, find what works best for you. Unless you're doing a lot of stop and go use cruise control.
