I didn't know they were exported to foreign militaries.
daehkciD-emoS@reddit
am i tripping or does the dude in the middle have 2 pistols in his holster
SFSLEO@reddit
I think it's just a safariland with the "fat guard". But at the same time I definitely can't say for certain

Backup for your backup
TimothySouthland@reddit
Two is one and one is none.
DrAusto@reddit
He should have three at the very least, one for each of his arms.
TheBoogBear@reddit
Middle and left can't be, they're milled receivers.
ShiftyLookinCow7@reddit
Genuinely wondering how you can tell at this resolution
TheBoogBear@reddit
You can see the lightning cut at the front of the receiver
ShiftyLookinCow7@reddit
Oh wow I don’t know how I missed that before
TheBoogBear@reddit
Just gun nerd stuff lol
lettelsnek@reddit
u can just see? those big rectangles on the receiver indicate milled
teilani_a@reddit
C39
lettelsnek@reddit
these rifles been known, militants captured a set of these and posted pics i think around 2020. alongside these were Glock 17s and boxes of TulAmmo steel case. if it didnt sound ridiculous it seemed like someone sent them a batch of commercial guns from the US.
MlackBesa@reddit
As a Frenchman, curse these guys that overthrew the former government and installed a puppet pro-Russian one, I hope the guns blow up
And yes, those guns are exported, Century usually has a tiny booth with AKs at European defence exhibitions
ProletarianBastard@reddit
The irony of a Frenchman thinking he has a right to dunk on the peoples his government literally colonized
Pratt_@reddit
Bruh Mali hasn't been a colony since 1964.
Didn't know condemning a military coup to set a dictatorship which helps Russia fund its war in Ukraine by using PMCs to take over mines and leave the population to the mercy of terrorist groups, and the PMCs themselves.
The irony of someone trashing someone else's opinion because of their nationality but being apparently ok with all the aforementioned crimes ¯\(ツ)/¯
Honestly both of your comments are pretty cringe and don't really have their place here...
ProletarianBastard@reddit
He's the one who brought up his nationality.
He said "As a Frenchman," like that is any sort of qualifier

Tell that to the people liberated from the jihadists in 2013 by the French army and now getting mowed down by Wagner in mass graves 🙏
Yes I will literally dunk on them, to resent French forces but welcome Russian & Chinese domination is just too hilarious
ilikeitsharp@reddit
I see this problem will eventually solve itself.
DarthVaderhosen@reddit
Africa is quite literally brimming with stockpiles of Russian full auto AKs. It's literally the one platform of rifle you could bury it for 60 years in a humid swamp and dig it out and it'd run fine with minor cleaning and for some reason they decided to go for the semi-auto glorified IED?!?! I guess it's so they can guarantee their soldiers won't defect to the enemy when their own weapon kills them before the enemy can.
No-Pay-4350@reddit
You know, correct me if I'm wrong, but most of Century's parts are decent, right? It's just 3 of the 4 most important ones- bolt, carrier, and trunnion- that typically fail?
DarthVaderhosen@reddit
Pretty much yeah. If you removed those 3 and put in new better supplied parts it wouldn't be half bad. The main problem just lies in how often those 3 parts have catastrophic and deadly failures.
SonJake21@reddit
Nice tactical shoes.
Walker_Hale@reddit
Middle dude looks like the main character
Kinda badass
VermelhoRojo@reddit
WTF this is odd AF
Being in south Florida I’d not be surprised but a Malian with connections showed up in their Boca offices and brokered a deal. That said, it’s also odd since military grade AKs on the global market can be procured cheaper that a RAS or a C39.
Very, very odd indeed.
MlackBesa@reddit
The few times I went to European defence exhibitions there was a tiny Century booth with AKs lol, although it was really stacked away and completely forgettable. No one stopped there, but I guess they do offer stuff for export
baneblade_boi@reddit
I bet this is one of those instances of someone either being bribed or...just casually finding a stockpile of RASs. Also, what if they repurposed them after capturing them from an enemy? When it comes to West Africa anything is possible, it is not unheard of countries buying weapons from arms traffickers
ardesofmiche@reddit
The left two rifles are milled so likely C39s or V2s
Same detriment though
CxsChaos@reddit
Proof that America won the cold war.
No-Pay-4350@reddit
That's just unfortunate. Imagine typical Century parts failure, trunnion breakage or bolt carrier failing, but in combat. Yeesh.
Occams_Razor42@reddit
Full auto?
762x38r@reddit
why
FormerPatrolJockey@reddit
Rocking Glocks on their hip.
Century didn’t make RAS-47’s with milled receivers though unless these were specifically made for export? What’s the source?
fromthewindyplace@reddit
The two on the left look like C39s. No better.
Terrestrial_Conquest@reddit
Out of all the AK's they choose a RAS?
