Introduce the word "alligate" to the English language as a synonym for cuddle. In 50 years enjoy the results as people woefully misunderstand what alligators are.

Its etymology will be given as deriving from Latin alligo ("I bind to"), from whence the attested form alligator ("one who ties or binds").
This is, just to be clear, an erroneous etymology. Latin "alligator" is of no etymological relation to English "alligator".
