BIOS Flash?

Building my first PC! I’m going for a B760 micro-atx DDR5 motherboard with a 14th gen intel cpu. I’ve heard weird things about 14th gen but it was on sale so I went with it.
How do I know if I need to update the BIOS or if it’ll support 14th gen cpus out of the box? My first time posting here so let me know if more info is needed.
Thanks!

Only way to know which bios you have is to turn it on and go in the bios.
If the mobo has a flash function it can be updated that way without a CPU.
The weird things you heard about 14th gen shuldn't affect most CPUs, it's mostly a problem for i9 and i7s.

It does have a flash plus function! Is there any reason not to just do the bios flash up front before installing everything else just to try and save time and make sure it’s up to date before installing the cpu and everything else?

No reason.
