New driver and really scared of driving

I’m 28 yo and only just got my license. I’ve never really wanted to drive back in India because of how bad the traffic is, but driving is pretty much unavoidable in the US, although I did manage to live here without a car for 5 years. Now that I got my license and started driving, I’m scared as shit. I’ve definitely made some mistakes, NGL, but each mistake makes me even more scared. I’ve been honked at so many times now. I’ve also had some irrational fears including constantly having to tell myself to press the brake and not accelerate, even though I mixed it up just once when I was learning. I really can’t go without driving now that I’ve moved a bit further away from work, but I just cant seem to get the confidence I need.

Keep in mind some drivers honk just because they're being impaitent. I've been honked at while waiting to turn on an unprotected green. It's my life, my car, my insurance, so I get to decide when it's safe to go, not the driver behind me.
To gain some confidence, you can try driving when there's less traffic on the road. Making mistakes is part of learning, I know I made mistakes when I first started driving. The important thing is we learn from our mistakes so we don't repeat them.

Hey! Do you have your own car? Maybe look into a drivers course or go to an empty parking lot on the day off of the buildings work schedule and drive around!
