Any recommendations for a vasectomy doc?

I’m looking to get my sack snipped, has anyone here that has had it done and can recommend a good place to go? I don’t want to entrust to job to any old hack if I can avoid it.

Any time this topic comes up Mootha is mentioned in a positive light. He did mine and it was a fine experience. Not sure what else to say to recommend someone. I barely remember the whole thing which seems good.

I had a good experience with Dr. Mootha as well. He did my vasectomy 6 months ago.

I went to UT Southwestern. Can’t remember my doc off the top of my head, but I can look him up if you’re curious.

I had it done November 1st. If you have a primary care physician just ask them for a referral. Mine referred me to a local urologist. I went in for a consultation where the doctor ( Dr. Fairbanks in flower mound) explained the procedure. I listened and then asked two questions. The first was how many vasectomies had he done, and the second was when was the last time he performed one. He said he’d done thousands and he does them every Friday because people want to take the weekend off to recover before going back to work Monday.
I’m happy to answer any questions if you have more specific ones, but that was the route I took and my experience. Everything went smoothly.

We didn't use him for that but had an amazing appointment with kidney stone surgery with Dr. Danawala in Plano. I would trust him with it.

I can't recommend this place enough. https://gentleproceduresdallas.com/
This place is a no needle, no scalpel procedure... and virtually painless for the procedure itself. I had the equivalent of blue balls for about a day and a half after, but that's it. I didn't need any pain meds. Just the occasional ice pack and rest and that's it.

Finally an excuse to ice my crotch in peace.

Dr Dan French! Spend 30 minutes telling him your life story then you're done.

Ask your general practitioner - I’m sure they will have a good idea.
As an aside - I had mine done 20+ years ago and it was no big deal and one of the better decisions I’ve ever made. Get yourself a couple of bags of frozen peas instead of an ice pack and rotate them - they mold better than ice packs!
