was the man arrested wearing a breathing apparatus and speaking with an incomprehensible accent while cursing batman?
If so, it might be part of his plan, be careful guys.

I'm a little confused why he thinks detonating the New York Stock Exchange would reboot the government. Even if he had a Timothy McVeigh sized bomb and was able to do enough damage to destroy the entire building, I would think the Federal Reserve or IRS would be a more appropriate goal assuming he is somehow connecting the money to government power.

At a guess he believes rich capitalists rule America (throw in the inevitable Jewish conspiracy here) and the destruction of the stock market will destroy their power/influence and allow the people to wake up and rise up against them. Basically it's the ending of Fight Club. It's stupid but there is a degree of warped logic to it.

This case is going to be dismissed for entrapment lol
“A Florida man has been charged in a plot to bomb the New York Stock Exchange. According to charging documents, Harun Abdul-Malik Yener, worked with several FBI informants and undercover employees, telling them that “the Stock Exchange, we want to hit that, because it will wake people up.”
The investigation began in February 2024 when the FBI received a tip about Yener “storing bomb making schematics in an unlocked storage unit in Coral Springs, Florida.” A search of the unit found “numerous electronic watches with alarm and timer features…and various electronic circuit board components.”
**The FBI introduced undercover employees to Yener shortly after the search. These individuals portrayed themselves as supporters of his plan. He tasked them with various assignments to get explosive materials, according to the criminal complaint. **
Yener, who is described in court records as unhoused, had a history of making violent threats, a YouTube channel that allegedly shared bombmaking tips, and had recently made comments in support of the Parkland school shooter following being fired from a job at a restaurant.
Court documents describe a man who floated through a number of different ideologies and attempts to join extremists groups. He told the FBI that he attempted to join the Boogaloo Boys and Proud Boys but “was turned down by both” because he “expressed a desire to pursue martyrdom” which “deemed Yener unsuitable.”
On November 12th, in the presence of an FBI informant, Yener reportedly recorded a message to be released following the NY Stock exchange bombing, noting that “our war is with the government.” Documents say he wanted the recording to go to NBC News following the attack.
Yener was arrested today. The U.S. Attorney’s office of Southern District of Florida, which is prosecuting the case, did not immediately respond to comment. Efforts to reach Yener were unsuccessful.“

I missed the homeless part. Seems odd a homeless man would own a storage unit and bomb making parts.

Weird timeline given in this article
Apparently he was interviewed by FBI agents, told them he was making rockets(!!!), they did a search of his storage unit and didn’t find anything incriminating, reached out to him undercover with the promise of real explosives, and then arrestee him. This guy sounds like a crazy homeless guy.

Well it's not like we have dozens of other examples of federal agencies entrapping crazy or otherwise societally maladjusted people to justify their budget and/or push for greater over reach.
RajcaT@reddit
Alternate possibility. Hes a crazy homeless guy who was talking about blowing shit up. And it's a good thing he's off the streets.

Let’s hope he gets three good meals a day, regular showers and psychiatric care.
The FBI is doing a service to society here. Unwittingly, perhaps…
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
This reminds me a bit of those who were imprisoned and tortured in Iraq and Afghanistan because they were assumed to be terrorists. They all had Casio watches, which was all the proof needed…

What location would be the most devastating out of curiosity?
