Onions look great but I am worried what is under it... since it looks questionable and nothing like a burger.
TruShot5@reddit
Let r/onionlovers be the judges here.
koobstylz@reddit
Representative speaking: onions look good. Burger looks bad. But I'd eat a cardboard box with a pound of good sauteed onions on it.
Sooo... 7.5/10 would eat. Make mine a 1 pounder though. 1.5 seems excessive.
Pristine_Egg3831@reddit
As a representative of onion lovers, can you tell me, is it only some people who can't digest onion and end up farting sulfur gasses for hours to come? Or are you all vulnerable to this side effect, and just decide to pay the price? I have sadly left onions in the the past.
Signed, gassy onion lover
userdork@reddit
Allium intolerance is what you have. Be lucky it's only gas, btw try phazyme before eating onions, they give me diarrhea.
Pristine_Egg3831@reddit
Oh wow, I had no idea the word "allium" existed, to cover that group. I totally avoid them. In my 20s my boyfriend loved onions and we had them in absolutely everything, so I couldn't make the connection as to what was making me feel so terrible!
Phazyme is just simethecone right? That you'd take for general digestive cramps? I've started taking a digestive enzyme capsule that covers 10 different digestive enzymes. I haven't actually tested eating onion since then.
userdork@reddit
Yes phazyme simethicone, if you take it before ingesting onions it helps greatly with gas and can help with the diarrhea. It doesn't always work though.
Pristine_Egg3831@reddit
OK I was being polite when I said gas. I meant diahrrea. And urgency. And gas bad enough to clear shoppers out of a store. Deadly.
userdork@reddit
Now that sounds familiar, my condolences. I avoid everything that has allium in it.

I will chekc out that enzyme
koobstylz@reddit
Had no idea that was a thing. So I guess you've just gotten a terrible onion based curse.
Stop upsetting witches.
Dave-James@reddit
Onions look GOOD??? They look like they need to be carmelized far more within a French Soup rather than on a burger… if they’re going on a burger they need to be given a LOT more heat…
Vey-kun@reddit
I think the representative person there doesnt judge what color/heat the onion had. 😏
I mean, love all dem onions.
koobstylz@reddit
You know what onions go good on a big hamburger/steak?
Raw. Sauteed. Caramelized. Fried. Deep fried.
Legitimately all work great as a burger topping. Onions and beef are natural allies.
koobstylz@reddit
Most kinds of onions are good. These are lightly sauteed, not caramelized, and that goes great on burgers and steaks.
I completely disagree with your premise that only deeply caramelized onions belong in burgers.
Raw and lightly cooked are also both great. As are French fried onions. As are onion rings. Can't go wrong really.
