Ram slots

Just finished building, but it says my current DRAM frequency is 2133 MHz. That's the frequency of my old ram which I have in DIMMA1 and DIMMB1. My new, faster ram is 3600 MHz. They're currently in DIMMA2 and DIMMB2. Is this correct? Why is it saying 2133 MHz?

RAM can not operate at different speeds.
If you mix, the best case scenario is all run at the speed of the slowest stick.
If you experience crashes, then the mixed RAM will be a very likely cause.
Generally, it is recommended to only use RAM from the exact same model.

no, it's generally recommended to use ram sticks from the same kit/box it came in. even the same models can have varying ics

I have had no problems so far matching the same sticks as long as they are the same model.
But that's for these basics speeds. If you would try XMP/DOCP I recon, there will be a lot more problems.

Oh damn, didn't know that. Thanks!

you'll have to manually overclock your ram and pray to the RNG gods that you can hit 3600MHz with decent timings

All ram sticks run at the same frequency. Mixing and matching is generally not recommended. If you mix ramsticks of different make and speed, the best case is that they all run at the speed of the slower sticks and worsr case doesn't boot at all.
