PLB registration after international move to the US

Hi!
I just moved from Australia to the US and I have a RescueMe PLB registered in Aus. How can I register it in the US (I think you register them to NOAA?). And do you know if the registration works on sea and land, or just sea?
Thanks!

FAQ #4 Can I register my non-US beacon with NOAA? You should register your beacon with the national authority associated with the country code in the hexadecimal identification (15-hex ID) of your beacon.

Thanks, I did see that. What is unclear to me is wether I'll be rescued. Will the US rescue services show up?
Thanks!

You will be rescued. The country the PLB is coded for and registered in will first have to process the distress call. They will try calling your emergency contact to see if it's likely you are in the area the beacon says you are and possibly in trouble. All the rescue coordination centers know how to contact each other so the RCC in your registered country will contact the RCC where the beacon is.
PLBs are cheap. You could just buy a new one, especially if the battery in your current PLB is nearing its expiry date.

The registration works everywhere, but the devices are coded to country. It is unlikely you will be able to register an AUS device in the USA, but you can certainly try...
You might try google "register PLB NOAA" and follow the link there...

Not true at all. You can indeed change the country with an authorized service provider.
