ULPT: How to lower taxes - Pro Tips
Posted by SlurpeeShorkie@reddit | UnethicalLifeProTips | View on Reddit | 23 comments
What are some pro tips for lowering your taxes under Trump’s promised tax structure when he enters office?
For example, I have a side hustle that brings in decent money. Should I be looking to convert from an LLC to C Corp before end of year (assuming he keeps his promise of 15%)?
Regarding the “no tax on tips” promise, is there any way to find loopholes for corporate bonuses or even business income that can be classified differently?
Any other tax-reducing and loophole tricks based on what he’s promised will happen in the next 4 years?

Don’t file taxes. There’s no law out there that says you HAVE TO file taxes. It’s voluntary. It’s only tax evasion if you file taxes and omit something. Don’t file them at all, problem solved

This is false.

I’ve known people who have never filed a tax return, most high incomers, a few low incomers. The only thing they have problem with is getting loans, however the high incomers don’t even care about loans as they buy it cash. They pay sales tax. They just never filed a return in their life, therefore never causing an audit. The system is broke in many ways.

Is this true?

No

No. It is not. Fees and penalties are so high. You are much better off filing and owing than not filing.

Let us know how it goes!

I know of at least one way to find out

US Code 6012 (aka the law that says you have to file taxes)

The law states filing is not necessary, but PAYING is. You don’t have to file, you can just go online and pay them.

My point was to not bother with starting a C Corp and rather to try keep his LLC and minimize taxes with clever accounting and investments

How can you plan for something that is so uncertain. Most of those promises were just campaign fluff. Realistically you can probably expect them to extend the Trump cuts/TCJA. The rest is unknown.
Also with a C Corp you are subject to double taxation so you know, maybe do some basic research first.

Because he’s always going to help the rich and corporations. I would bet the tax thing is happening in the first 3 months.
Yes, double taxation if you distribute dividends but not if you reinvest them back into the corporation.
Niaaal@reddit
It's not that simple my dude. If you want to play smart and not pay taxes. Look into perfecting deductible expenses
theeraser_13@reddit
"perfecting" lol sure you can reinvest all you want in a C Corp but unless you really stretch the definition of business expenses (or outright cheat), how can you ever use that money without distributing and paying double tax?
besides don't forget additional state and local returns/taxes for a C Corp (that you will have to file/pay even if you live in a 0% personal state income tax state). In short, wait until you see at least a draft of a bill and then start planning.
Besides extending Trump cuts, I think the other semi realistic thing might be eliminating the $10,000 state and local deduction cap. Don't think there are too many planning opportunities there.

You should already have your llc be taxed as an s corp.

Start with a billion dollars. Then use your money to vote to lower your taxes. Fear works best. Find something different than the people whose vote you need. Skin color and religion works well. When they ask about their own taxes say class warfare over and over.

I get it. I hate the guy and didn’t vote for him. But it would be stupid of me not to take advantage of whatever he puts in place.
ongoldenwaves@reddit
I don't get this. The tax cuts act that expires in 2025 which Trump pushed in, has you paying about 3% less tax than was the situation under Biden.
If you really don't want to pay any tax, quit work. No income=no tax. Just don't participate in the economy. Buy nothing. Don't drive.
SlurpeeShorkie@reddit (OP)
I’m just trying to take advantage of our system. I would be financially stupid not to do so.

Buy a real estate empire. Taxes for real estate tycoons are not long for this world.

Well first make a billion dollars, then you get tax cuts
