226, ZERO QUESTIONS

This, the 226 just plain works. I bought mine on the recommendation of a Navy SWCC guy who said he wouldn't hesitate to buy one. The 320 has a very spotty history and I would not trust my life with one.
SniperSRSRecon@reddit
Exactly. I’m not a big sig fan, but I did like how the 226 felt and wouldn’t mind getting one at some point. 230 is just trash.
sig40cal@reddit
I rented 10 different pistols before I bought and it was up to the 226 or the HK USP...I don't think I could have gone wrong with either. The Sig just felt a little better in my hand.

I would stay away from the usp. It’s way overpriced and its direct competitor is similar or better while being cheaper.
sig40cal@reddit
This was in '06 bucks, they were priced similar.

Ah

The 320 is so dangerous only “cops” should have them…..Total junk IMHO. I’ve had a few metal Sig’s, all were very reliable guns, at least early models. Unimpressed by most late model American Sig’s. My last P220 wouldn’t even operate well (with springs etc) with .45 Super. My HK45 and Tanfoglios will eat that hot load all day long.

I bought my 226 in early '06, I think that was when they were still rock solid quality wise.
ShoemakerMicah@reddit
Yep. The last 220 had way too much exposed cartridge area with slide locked closed. +P+ bulged badly on ejected cartridges, .45 Super was worse even with 20% stiffer recoil spring.
My 1993 vintage P220 however would do 45 Super no issues. Asshole that stole it from my truck got a great freaking gun. The European ones definitely seem better to me.

P226. If you want to go the striker route there are better options than the P320.
I have an M18. I’ve shot it a decent amount, probably around 5k rounds, and I’d never buy one over its contemporaries even though it’s all a round okay. Glock, Smith, Walther, CZ, HK, etc…all have better offerings imho.

I feel the 320 is like having a pet rattlesnake; 226 for the win!
atx620@reddit
I bought both. Hope that helped.
That being said, I like the 226 better by a long shot. It feels like a damn pistol for getting shit done.

the one that doesnt dome you when it slips out of your hand

P200 series has a good track record whereas the p320 is iffy.
i like my p229 more than my p320 but i had to put the grey guns competition trigger in the p229. and you can find the p226,p229 and p320 as police trade ins on r/gundeals.
p320 safety concerns made me make it a back up gun.
the fcu would be cool if you are in a state that stops you from buying multiple guns i guess but no real reason to go from the subcompact grip module and slide to a carry to a compact to a fullsize. you will probably get a compact and never change it. and the factory grip module is meh and i upgraded to a polymer80 grip module for more texture.
