Is the 4070 Ti Super Worth It Over the 4070 Super?

Hey everyone, I want a new GPU and I'm torn between the 4070 Super and the 4070 Ti Super. The Ti version costs around €170 more, It his worth for 4G of VRAM more?
I want the GPU for gaming, productivity and some light AI/model work, is the Ti version really worth the extra cost? Or would the 4070 Super be a better bang for my buck?
Thanks guys

I would even go that far and say if the 4070 ti super with 16 gb is too expensive, better go for the 16 gb 4060 ti than a 4070 variant with 12 gb.

The 16GBs of the 4060 Ti is only 128-bit vs the 4070 Super's 192-bit and the 4070 Ti Super's 256-bit. Also only 136 Tensor Cores vs 224 and 264. All impactful on AI.
The only benefit of going that route would be loading better quants of the same size models compared to 4070/Super's 12GB, but it'll also be notably slower. Not worth it, imo. Just do a smaller quant. I run non-specialized 22B models between Q4 and Q5 quants on my plain 4070 without issue. There's only a few models that are higher than 22B that you could run with 16GB, but they probably aren't as good as the main 22B's out there. Honestly, 12GB to 16GB just isn't that big of a difference. Basically Q4 vs Q6, but same size model. If you want to run bigger models you need 24GB, or 48GB preferably.

For gaming the Ti is probably “worth it” - just so you can push 4k games.
Frankly I think they are both 1440p cards imo. That said, for local ai, I recommend big cases and big fans and used 3090’s off facebook marketplace.

I need help finding if 16G VRam is a lot better than 12G VRam for Local AI, I know that the 3090 is perfect for A, but I prefer the new GPUs.

More VRAM > literally anything else for most users.

Yes. The 4070 Super has 12GB at 192bit while the 4070 Ti Super has 16GB at 256bit. So, it's not just that you're getting a bit more total memory, but you're also getting more bandwidth and less latency. The 4070 Ti Super also has more Tensor Cores which is also important for AI usage. 264 vs 224.
There's a reason why the card costs so much more.
That said, the 3090 truly is the better card for the same-ish price if you're interested in Ai. 384-bit bus, 24GB, 328 Tensor cores. Though, as far as gaming, it's a slight downgrade from the Ti Super, but it's better than just the normal Super.
Personally, I'd get the RTX 3090. You'll get a smidgen more gaming performance compared to the regular Super, a smidgen less compared to the Ti Super, and you'll get far more Ai performance compared to either the Super or Ti Super no question.
There's a reason why everyone is always like "JUST GET THE 3090, PERIOD." It's just simply true, tbh. Two of them basically absolves 99% of people's wants. They're just that good. But one will for sure be good enough for light work. Guaranteed.
