Would memory foam work for sound deadening car doors?

I have an extra roll of memory foam, like the kind that you use as a mattress topper. Do you think this would help to reduce road noise? Thanks! :)

I know this is 7 years old but for anyone in the future - Use peel n seal from lowes / home depot. It works almost as good. I've done it to 2 cars and both of them took to it nicely. Canceled out at least half of the road noise, made a difference in heating and cooling, and did help with sounds being retained better in cab.
2 - 3 rolls depending on car size. 05 civic took 2 rolls for 4 doors and some trunk covering. 3rd roll had 90% left (did majority of trunk and quarter panel)
20$ or so active rolls (don't quote me on it ) but it's worked so far without coming off or issues but I also used Gorilla Tape (black roll) and it's super strong. Both cars i used this just to make sure that they didn't come off.
