6750xt is probably a better pick

6750xt is £300+ here
If OPS budget us firm, then for £250 the 4060 is well priced

1060 is a 8 year old card. If all the rest of your PC is 8 years old you may not have the sufficient power to drive a 4060. Probably the best option to game this cheap is a console.

The 4060 only uses 115w of power

Maybe they mean they have such an old CPU that it could bottleneck something even like a 4060

4060 is an 8 lane pcie card and needs pcie4 to be fully utilized.
coreytrevor@reddit
Most cards don’t see a big drop off pcie3 vs 4
seraphinth@reddit
Most cards have 16 lanes, 4060 only has 8

The testing doesn’t show a significant drop off at 1080p

Debraurer did a review on it just comparing it to a RTX 3060 ti....
And apparently at PCIe 3.0.....it is almost the same performance as a RTX 3060 ti.
So you are buying a RTX 3060ti performance, for the price of an RTX 4060ti....let that sink in.

No, in the low to mid-range AMD offers products with insane performance-price ratio.

4060 in terms of just jts performance is an ok card. But price for performance is real bad. It loses to last gen nvidiia and AMD and has very little vram.
What is a similar priced AMD card? Amd often wins in price performance while nvidiia has better software and features. If gaming is all you care about, amd will do fine.
I’m guessing 6750XT or 7700XT will be around that price in euro? Use this site to compare performance https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4060-ti-8-gb.c3890
