i5 6400 to i7 6700 CPU Cooler

Is the stock CPU cooler on the i5 6400 good enough for the i7 6700? I ordered the CPU thinking it would come with one and didnt. But it seems that one size fits all essentially ?

it will fit, no reason to get a more expensive one on such an outdated CPU/socket anyways

Ok thanks. I thought so but wasnt sure with the extra performance if it would require a beefier fan.

I had an i7-6700 that ran Cinebench under the stock cooler for an i3 with no temperature issues. If it's the -K and you were planning on overclocking it, maybe, but the stock chip is fine under a tiny cooler.

Pretty pointless upgrade. Same cooler should work or get a hyper212.
