Graphics card turns off on startup

Disclaimer: I am a complete novice at building a pc. My friends recommended me the parts and my brother helped me put it together.
I bought a new graphics card (rtx 4060 ti) and a new psu, and everything seems to be working together for about a week with no issues. Two days ago my windows updated at night and I turned off my pc. Next day, I tried playing a game and 5 minutes into it my graphics card turns off (the fan stops spinning) and I get a black screen. I turn off my pc and turn it on again and the graphics card works but one of the fans start working then turns off. As soon as a start up another game the fan starts up for a second, then the card turns off and the screen goes black again. I stopped playing games for the day but other functions like zoom calls, browser, etc. still work despite one of the fans not spinning.
This morning, I turn on my pc again, and the monitor says it’s updating windows. A few seconds after that, card turns off and screen goes black without even reaching the log in screen.
I made sure to check the drivers were up to date, and they are. I don’t think it’s a psu issue since it’s new and it’s been working for a week before. I think it’s a windows issue but I can’t even access the log in screen now. If you guys can help I would be very grateful!

Are all the cables connected properly?
Are any of them daisy-chained?
Are they all cables that were supplied with the PSU?
What‘s your PSU‘s wattage?

All the cables are securely in place, no daisy chaining, all straight to the psu. All the cables I used were supplied with the psu, and it supplies 1000 watts.
