Dyslexic Ceiling

Hi, I'm well into coding, lots of python in the last few years but I've frequently hit a ceiling when it comes to learning sysadmin skills, networking and deployment, worse since the cloud, especially since I'm forced to give a credit card, which feels like trap...

I'm so bored of it holding me back.

I'm looking for a sanity check from any other dyslexics successful in that field...

My way is to sort of build a mental model of something in my head, something tangible I can spin and discect .. I'm told that's classic dyslexic visual thinking. They say visual thinkers can process significantly more thoughts than others, a dyslexic advantage, it just takes longer to get the info in.

I struggle to associate anything tangible to build from with all of the terminology that seems to just be made up words with loads of syllables. Then the definition is more multi-syllabic words, then it glows and I get a migraine.

I also like to do a lot of trial and error, I want to know why something works the way it does, so I know how to use it to build out that model. So I take working examples of code and smash them about a bit then run them.

That is scary when AWS, Azure etc. all demand a credit card to access even the so called free tier, which apparently they will charge you on if you go over your limit ... Which is the trap to me, since I cannot trust my eyes with words, so i may or may not have done something I was supposed to and end up with a giant credit card bill.

Any dyslexic sysadmin who's taught themselves, who might see it like I see it, what's the trick?

What's a good base analogy for things?

How easy is it for a someone to avoid accidentally going over the free limits in Azure and AWS?
