Windows Defender Question

I've heard people saying that Windows Defender is enough protection, but don't you miss the central reporting/management from a platform like Symantec? How do you verify that Windows Defender is active on each machine, has up to date definitions, and view logs?

Windows Defender has all that. It is called Windows Defender for Endpoint and can be purchased separately or as part of an M365 subscription. It turns the out of the box Windows Defender component into a cloud managed fully featured product.

When people say Windows Defender, they mean the paid product, not the free one. All your concerns are addressed when you get the paid version.
