Like I get it, you have a lot more stops to get to, but come on. Am trying to leave also.
Fedex... walks by saying, oh I only have one...15 mins later

At least those guys will probably be gone in a few minutes. Any grocery drivers will probably feel my pain about the Red Bull truck and those asshole Little Debbie distributors with the pickup and the car trailer full of their crap... don't even need the dock, yet they always find a way to park right in front of it while they go in there for 3 hours and if you're lucky enough to catch them and nicely ask them to move they're just like: No, you can make that.
Mickey10199@reddit
I have a deep rooted hatred for the little Debbie guys in pickups. I was delivering to a Sam’s club in rocky mount nc, and the guy parked right in a corner so I couldn’t get around to the docks. Took like 30 minutes to get him to move

Then they got the balls to tell you what you can do with your truck... Like, what qualifies you to make that call? All your long years of experience driving a Chevy Silverado?
BleachIF@reddit
Those fucking frito lay guys and the milk trucks take my dock all the time
real_steel24@reddit
As a matter of my experience, and I mean no offense, but LTL are often entirely lacking in any sort of lot or dock etiquette

I worked 20 years at FedEx...they pay any parking tickets except fire zone and handicap.
colleensdoormat@reddit
I hate when these mofo's park right in the travel lane of a 2 lane road like its ok, and cops dont seem to care. See it almost daily

Kinda shitty on fedex end as a freight driver myself. We are timed on our per stop. Most are only one pallet and very quick but regardless, blocking someone in is some bull. 99% of the time if every door is full the customer will come out with a lift to grab said pallet( knowing they will be charged if we wait too long ) or we can dump it with the liftgate and be done. However there is always a way to park without being an ass.

Looks like the small UPS truck is intimidated by the sheer size of the FedEx. Poor little guy is frozen in fear

I dont even blame the UPS guy. He was at least pulled over and not blocking me
Canelosaurio@reddit
Why'd you let that happen? Did he back in while you were inside signing BOLs? Or did you sit there and mutter, "C'mon man."

Was inside using the restroom

Reminds me of a joke from George Wallace (the comic): what can brown do for you? You can move that big ass truck.
Anthonte91@reddit
I’m not sure about brown but freight is hourly (city drivers like this one) in the dfw area they get paid about $35 a hour plus time and half after 8 hours in one day or anything over 40 in a week. Idk why some of them seem to think they get paid per drop
Salt_Bus2528@reddit
Back in the 90s I read an article about UPS that said they just keep a fund to pay out parking tickets and otherwise park anywhere they want to.
CapitanPino@reddit
I run a dedicated account delivering for a major company that supplies hvac plumbing and electrical products.
The amount of times a dock is completely blocked or I get blocked out by vans of contractors parking wherever is absurd. I feel your pain.
Responsible_CDN_Duck@reddit
It would be a shame if they ended up chained to your rig until there was an apology.
I'd unlock the chain now, but I'd have to restart my break clock....
BleachIF@reddit
Welcome to retail deliveries haha, luckily my truck is priority over everyone else so they’ll get to me first even if theres 5 other peoplee there

We had 10 to 20 trucks and at least 10 box trucks at our docks each day. Many times, I would see a truck maneuvering to take the door he was assigned to, and a UPS or FedEx come swooping in and take that spot. It was annoying, but they usually only took one or two pallets, vs. a full load for the trucker. The trouble was that they just backed in instead of parking and coming to get a door assignment.
We had a trucker once get really pissed and came at the FedEx guy with a hammer. No one was injured, but it was really hard to take the trucker's side on that one. I felt he was right to be upset, but the hammer changed things a bit.
scottiethegoonie@reddit
I had this exact thing happen.
Lee Kum Kee in City of Industry, CA. Tight back into dock 2. I'm backing and the FedEx guy swoops in at that dock.
I stepped out and another trucker on door 3 stepped out as well when he saw it. Both walking towards the shorts wearing mfer, I stretch my arms out Jesus pose like "wtf". Box truck promptly moves.
Not something to fight over but if he didn't move I was going to box him in and make him wait.
Make no mistake these guys have no sympathy for us and will steal your time. They behave like 4 wheelers bc that's what they are.
snarksneeze@reddit
I feel for them, somewhat. They are on very tight time constraints, each time they finish their route on time, someone in the office deletes another hour from that route. They have zero time to wait for anything, yet when they pop around to a factory or warehouse, that's exactly what they have to do. But common courtesy should compell you to at least visit the office for a dock assignment even if they are all empty. You never know when a dock might be down for maintenance or whatever, so assuming an open dock is free is just wrong.
hera_the_destroyer@reddit
Never bring a hammer to a piss fight. Or do. I am not sure on this one.
