New Gaming Phone
Posted by MeanKno@reddit | hardware | View on Reddit | 7 comments
So I have had the same phone from 2017 - Galaxy S8 Plus, but lately a lot of apps don't work on it. I'm in the market for a new phone that I will use a lot for gaming, taking pictures, and recording videos. I need a lot of space to store all this. I've seen some streamers and YTbers I watch push the Red Magic Gaming phone and I've done some research on other phones, but I am not a tech head. I don't even understand what I need in a good gaming phone (with good picture and video taking quality too). I know you guys may know better than me so please drop your suggestions.

This absolutely is not the place to ask these questions try suggestmeaphone. Although don't go buying a gaming phone, just buy a normal phone with a Qualcomm/apple cpu/soc. And a big battery, and hopefully something that mentions something about cooling. Iphones are very good at running the games but heat up a lot, they will run just hot and will probably deteriorate the battery within 2 years.

Honestly? Anything with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip (which are very few phones) or the Mediatek 9400.
Snapdragon has better CPU while the Mediatek better GPU.

For multiplayer gaming you'll need 3.5mm jack because bluetooth adds lag and hurts sound quality when using it as mic.
That leaves with very few choices. Xperia, ROG or Redmagic.
I personally am waiting for Redmagic 10 global.

any phone with the new snapdragon elite will be good.
dedicated gaming phones can have nice touches like bumper buttons and even active cooling

Budget?
If gaming is a really important aspect, perhaps the newest ROG phone.
