Sorry to ask, but are you seriously considering this ‘heavy weather’? It’s basically a weekly occurrence in the North Atlantic / North Sea during winter time.
Looking at the forecast a new system will develop 300 miles west of Ireland at the end of the week with 70 kn + gusts ranging from Iceland to the Azores.

How many sailboats are in the North Atlantic during winter time?

40 sailboats just left France in the Vendée Globe race around the world.

They're going to the southern ocean. Which is also severe but not the north Atlantic. Either way, this isn't really a good example because the whole point of the race is that it's impossibly dangerous and hard.

Dude. The Spanish named her Peaceful because it's not the North Alantic or North Sea.

I've been using VesselFinder ship tracking to watch cargo vessels cope with the situation. Eastbound ships have been circling in the Straits between Pt Angeles and Victoria in 25kt winds and 6ft waves. Avoiding Haro Strait in the blow?
