SteamOS can’t run .exe alongside game

A while ago I came across a Decky plugin for my Steamdeck that allows you to run a trainer/cheat executable (.exe) alongside a game you want to run it with.
I found this super useful however I’m encountering an issue with running .exe files. So I switched to Desktop Mode and I’m told that “For safety reasons, launching executables is not allowed in this context”
I tried Lutris to run the .exe, and it works somewhat however after the “initialization” the .exe no longer runs on Lutris or by itself.
Is there any way to run a .exe file so I can use the cheat/trainer alongside the game? I’ve tried using proton-tricks, wine, and adding the game to my Steam library as a non steam game (but unfortunately I need to run it alongside the actual game, preferably before the game launches) Any help would be much appreciated.

You could try adding it to the game’s launch options, maybe? “wine some.exe && %command%” Not sure if that would have the desired effect or not.
