Hungary has offered to settle its Erasmus dispute with Brussels, which has left 21 Hungarian universities without access to the popular programme.

The exclusion from the Erasmus and Horizon programmes is part of the conditionality mechanism that has frozen €6.3 billion in EU funds for Hungary over systematic irregularities in public procurement and the fight against corruption.
The €6.3 billion is included in a broader package of €11.7 billion of cohesion funds that the Commission has immobilised due to persistent rule-of-law deficiencies. Hungary is unable to access most of its €10.4 billion recovery fund for similar reasons.
The last time the executive unblocked money for Hungary (€10.2 billion in December last year), it faced a furious backlash and a lawsuit by the European Parliament.

Euronews buyout was financed by the hungarian goverment and fidesz. So its a pr article. most Hungarian universities are under Fidesz control and are owned by foundations managed by Fidesz leaders.

Jorge Liboreiro has been covering EU politics for a while. I don't see a shift in allegiance in his work.
Him not having jumped ship yet isn't something I'd be wary about either. There's no simple answer or right choice during times of transition: Leave too early, and they'll be all too happy to replace you with a French journalist who lost their job after the RT ruling, and who'd benefit from the still good name of the Euronews outlet to push garbage. Leave too late, and your reputation will be stained. Right now, we still seem to be in the gray zone.

Be aware people! They are making Euronews into a pan-european state propaganda channel with ties to Russia through hungarian banking loans. Since RT (Russia Today) was banned in many EU countries at the beginning of Invasion of Ukraine (2022) the FIDESz party (Orban's party deep in russian pockets) tries to get a new hold on widespread disinformation channel in EU. Euronews is this new pet project. They just follow the same path with which they overtook the hungarian media and created a widespread network overtaking so every media in hungary is tied to propaganda somewhat. Independent is rare and mostly blackmailed or pretty much constantly harassed. The way is having a shadowy company holders (that bought each news station, webite with state loans) and they can start to spread disinformation. The estimate are 20-30% of the population is easily compromized by these in any civilization and can easily disrupt state if they let them, while they overtake the system.
Just a reminder that the hungarian banking system is run by Orban's will (and through him Putin). This shady banking system loaned the purchase to buy Euronews. The holder of the company took these hungarian loans. Be ready for nothing good.
