Should I buy my PC now, or wait for black Friday?

Some stores here in Serbia already have some discounts, they call it Black November. But I think the discounts will be even higher at the exact date on Black Friday.
Also I'm scared that all of my parts will get bought and I'll need to wait for like 1 month for the stores to restock and there will be no discounts in the end.
What's your strategy, guys?
Imaginary_Injury8680@reddit
Black Friday is trash now
BigSmokesCheese@reddit
True the january clearance sales are op I got a PS5 slim disc brand new for £407 this year
CroCGod73@reddit
Stuff I actually want rarely goes on sale on Black Friday anyways
spacegrab@reddit
Sales are always better in February.
Source: worked in retail PC for a long ass time
RyvalHEX@reddit
What happens in February regarding sales?

CES in January - new product lines get unveiled so older tech gets discounted

Too bad tariffs will be in before then :(

The real black month
1LastHit2Die4@reddit
Europe? I have not seen sales in Feb in IT in European countries.
spacegrab@reddit
tbh I didn't even know black friday had extended to EU, was just referring to the US domestic retail market.
NigraOvis@reddit
Too many people were getting hurt, so it's more like black november.
CryptographerNo450@reddit
Pretty much. Retailers are like "the hell with it, here are the 'Early' Black Friday sales now. Buy buy buy!"
13igTyme@reddit
I was getting Early black friday stuff in mail and email in October.
Icy_Calendar_7267@reddit
Buy it when it's available
RoundCollection4196@reddit
Don't bother waiting for deals, just buy now. The deals are trash and yes parts will be sold out so just buy now.
Stylu_u@reddit
If you can find a deal that you want go for it, otherwise I'd buy whenever.
Avg-Whiskey-Enjoyer@reddit
Depends on your budget. I don’t find many high end parts go on a good sale.
Savings-Option-9800@reddit
Depends on your budget really. Want a $1000 pc ? You might can get it for $850. You want a $2000 pc ? You might can find deals for $1700. But most of the time a good deal sells out too quick to be the lucky one to get it.
Honestly if you have the funds to get what you want now the best thing to do is to buy it now, prices on pc parts don't drop until they become irrelevant generally. Like yeah if you want a 4090 you might wanna wait since the 5090 will be just a little more expensive and is right around the corner but if you think you want a 4090 and that it'll be cheaper when the 5090 comes out it won't.
Yes you want a future proof build but you don't want to wait for future parts or prices as that won't make a big enough difference to put off getting something you want.
Honestly black Friday is a scam on most things in general, it used to be a amazing thing that can save you money on things you were going to buy either way but now it's just marking things up 30% and giving you 20% off and saying woah look you saved so much money wow great deal when it's regular price or more. The only things that truly are cheaper is stuff they can't sell or are getting outdated.
And gosh imma add this but it sickens me how people will buy a bunch of unnecessary sh*t they don't need just because "it's on sale" and then brag about how they saved so much money. No the real way to save money is to just not buy anything you don't need at all.
If you have the funds, buy what you want now because chances of saving a significant amount of money are already so low since they only put stuff on sale that isn't any good anyways.
Cactuar0@reddit
I'm not aware of store return policy in Serbia, so I wasn't going to comment but there is a lot of US specific posts here anyway.
IF you also have a generous end of year return policy, its always better to grab good deals ahead of time and just assemble the PC after Cyber Monday. That way, if you find better discounts then you can do either price adjustment (if its the same store) or return earlier purchases.
Most likely, you just end up waiting a couple more weeks to unbox your components, which you would have to do anyway if you were waiting for BF sales.
nshkaruba@reddit (OP)
Update: this is my build, is it ok?
Dripac42@reddit
If you wanna splash money it's fine, but please don't buy a 60hz monitor, at least 120hz minimum. It's night and day. Buying these parts is actually a total waste with that monotor you have there, and don't get me started on the price... Find a 2k 27in/32in monitor with at least 120hz, otherwise this is like putting a jet engine on a lada that will only go on dirt roads.
BoltaVS@reddit
Brate.,ako ćeš igrati na 60fps u 4k,nemoj uzimati 7800x3d, uzmi 9900x. 3d keš ti apsolutno ništa ne znači za 60fps u 4k,a imaš manje jezgara,uzimati procesor sa 8 u 2024/2025 nije baš dobar izbor.
radialmonster@reddit
speaking as from the US, now is a good time. or a week ago. from now until before black friday stores will increase their pricing. and then on black friday they will reduce them back down again, making it appear they are on sale.
cabaretcabaret@reddit
I bought all the parts for a PC over the last 3 weeks because the prices just made sense.
Check the price history, and if it historically pretty good, then odds are pretty low that it will go down again.
Add to that the fact if the retailer does easy returns then you're covered if you find a much better price soon after.
Hopeful-Sir-2018@reddit
Or... use https://camelcamelcamel.com/ and see what they did last year and monitor it. You can adjust the region as needed.
Frankwulf@reddit
If you're willing to buy used parts, I'd recommend waiting till next year to buy your components since both AMD and Nvidia are going to be releasing new CPU and GPUs respectively at the beginning of 2025. A lot of PC users will be dumping their old parts on the secondary market and you'd be able to snag a really good deal for your build!
Sweet_Engine_9661@reddit
except ya know, the tariffs.
Evasive_Atom@reddit
Thought I heard they're exempt
Dugo-Senpai@reddit
Depends on where you live. I learned that in the US this happens everywhere (that's how I built mine) but in France it's not very common if you don't live in one of the 5 biggest cities. So, in Serbia it could be a whole different situation altogether. So if they'd try to import, it'd cost even more...
BanditoMuser@reddit
Well the thing is that many stores are kinda lying about their black friday sales. They might start increasing prices months in advance so that the sales now seem bigger. So i’d say whatever feels like a good price for you, go for it. Either now or wait, up to you
AlmostButNotQuiteTea@reddit
Also literally every piece of hardware I've been keeping my eye on for the last 3 months hasn't gone below the price I started watching it at. Only up slightly and then back down. Infuriating
axerowsky_@reddit
I like the fact that in my country it is obligatory by law to show the lowest price from 30 days prior to discount. Even though it's easy to miss as every shop tries to hide it (really small font, bad placement), I and other people that are aware of this, can easily check if a store has been inflating the prices.
BanditoMuser@reddit
That’s good! If i’m not mistaken, it’s mandatory here too, not a 100% sure though because i don’t recall seeing that in every webstore.
But thankfully the store where I usually buy everything tech related is a site i browse throughout the whole year, so the thing’s i’m looking for, i know if the prices change lol
dJohn2001@reddit
Then by that logic everything is awful and inflated value now and will be better on Black Friday
BanditoMuser@reddit
It really depends on the store.
syunz@reddit
Buy deals you see now, if anything is better on black Friday. Buy that and return the other item
cover-me-porkins@reddit
All they do is put the prices up so they can cut them again.
johnothetree@reddit
Try using this website to see historical prices of products you want to buy, and then decide from there whether it's worth buying now or not.
Punky921@reddit
Black November sounds like the name for a historical genocide, Jesus.
ToxyFlog@reddit
Black Friday started last month 😂 it's a joke.
GlryX@reddit
Don't most places have BF price guarantees these days?
Slickace1215@reddit
I built a top of the line pc two years ago and instead of spending close to 4 grand i topped out at 3100 so I ended up saving 900$ and used that to upgrade my monitor.
Imo waiting for cyber Monday and or black Friday is well worth it when it's this close to being here.
justhereforthegoons@reddit
It's only a few weeks man. I'm also planning to either upgrade or get a completely new build. Got my options figured out but will adjust if a nice discount comes my way. It doesn't hurt to wait
Alezhnin1@reddit
You might want to try to travel to Hungary, buy it and get tax free
Yethix@reddit
If you see a good deal now, and I mean an actual deal not a fake one, then go for it now. Try using sites that track the price history like Keepa or CamelCamelCamel to help. Black Friday's been pretty mid the past few years and I doubt prices are going to drop that drastically.
CookieSlayer2Turbo@reddit
Buy now if you like a deal, if you see better we are close enough that you should be able to return it.
AlteOtsu@reddit
Depends whats on sale. From what i saw they discounted all kinds of garbage but the good stuff remains full price.
fuzzynyanko@reddit
Many PC shops are doing Black November. If it's a deal now, pretty much predict if it can go lower.
Much-Independent-106@reddit
Kupio sada ili poslije svejedno je, nadji provjerene prodavače na kupujem prodajem i naruci svaku komponentu posebno. Poslije odnesi kod nekoga da ti sklopi ako ne znas sam. Najjeftinije i najbolje je tako.
drewts86@reddit
In all honesty some of the best deals come after Black Friday. Some stores that don't sell enough stock during Black Friday/Cyber Monday mark prices down in the following weeks to clear out the extra inventory. I've found much better deals the first week or two of December.
MrMusAddict@reddit
Newegg offered me Black Friday pricing protection for my order last week. Not sure if that's still being offered, but I assume so. I would snag what you can now, in case there are any inventory issues with the parts you want.
Wajid-H-Wajid@reddit
i think you should wait
SeveralAmbassador258@reddit
Yes
Tomzibad@reddit
The things you want are never on sale. What are you looking for? 9800x3d, 4080 super? Then don’t hold you breath.
Tone_Additional@reddit
I bought my GPU (3080ti) on black friday 2 years ago and instead of $1000 it was $800. I would say it’s worth the wait, but a lot of companies have been avoiding black friday sales now. Either way I think you should since you’ll at least get some parts at a discounted price.
CaptainAmerica679@reddit
if you buying a pre built i would do it now. only reason to wait is is to see if 7000 series cpus price drops as 9000 become more available, or to buy a discounted or used 40 series when 50 comes out. both of these things wont happen until December or January
fuzzerabbit@reddit
I was in the same position as you. I got a few things on sale but just decided to go for it. Can say I have zero regrets. The price difference vs my happiness rn is worth it to me.
DarkShade-EVO@reddit
A lot of Black Friday deal started already. Amazon the last to start which is tomorrow.
SG10HD-YT@reddit
Yeah Walmart started like a week ago
No-Pomegranate-69@reddit
There are two variables:
Time and Money.
If you have time but no money, wait for black friday. If you have money but no time, buy now. If you have time and money, wait for black friday. If you have no time or money, umm idk
LSD_tripper@reddit
Cyber monday will be your best bet
BluDYT@reddit
I just waited for normal sales and used history trackers to decide when to buy. BF they artificially raise prices then bring it down to the normal price most of the time anyways.
SJEPA@reddit
PC parts are dynamically priced. Use Pcpartpicker to check historic prices then buy when you see a good deal.
ole87@reddit
Buy your shit when you can A. Find it in stock B. Have the money
gsanchez92@reddit
Cyber Monday and Black Friday are few days away so just wait unless you see a good deal
SeafoodDuder@reddit
I think if you see something that's on sale/that you like the price of then I would go ahead and purchase.
If I like a computer case that is $69.99, but is normally $99 then I would just buy instead of waiting for maybe $59.99 and risk it being out of stock for who knows how long, just like you mentioned.
LollosoSi@reddit
Nice
ReturnOfTheRover@reddit
its pretty much black friday right now buncha companies already doing it, just make sure it's actually a deal a lot of them are scum and just mark up the price and mark it back down to normal and say its a sale.
Dugo-Senpai@reddit
I don't know about SSerbia, but in France we usually don't have such good deals on black friday proper but throughout the whole of November, we don't like to rush. So we'd do it now.
Then again it could happen that you'd gain 10% by waiting, or not. Unless you know someone who works in such places, it's impossible to know, so it's best to take opportunities.
NigraOvis@reddit
Buy now, and if there are better deals, buy the better deal and return the more expensive version :) win win
starocean2@reddit
I wouldnt expect too much from black friday, but since its right around the corner i would wait
IanMo55@reddit
Buy it now.
Present_Play_239@reddit
I’m from the US, but I just bought all my PC parts yesterday from the store MicroCenter(they already started Black Friday sales). I ordered a few things from Amazon so still waiting til I get my build going. Point being, if stores near you have already started Black Friday sales, I’d go ahead and jump on it because I don’t see them going much lower/stock is limited.
esfh@reddit
Nah, I would buy it now tbh because I don’t think there will be any good deals in Serbia imo.
