Found cat

Very sweet, I think it’s a girl. I live in an apartment complex (indoor complex in one building) and she was crying loudly outside one of the exit doors this morning at around 6:45 AM. I ran down to open and she came inside the stairwell to cry some more. Blue collar but no info, only a bell. Plano off 75 and Spring Creek. I have put out a message to the complex and filled out a found pet form on Plano’s website, will take her to see if she’s microchipped if I don’t hear anything by end of day!

looks like this cat

That does look like her! Although that is very far from where I found her

Cats like to roam. Maybe the microchip will match when you take her in.

The microchip unfortunately was registered to a cat rescue in Waxahachie, and they don’t have the new owner’s info :(

I see. Maybe call the home again place to see what they say. We're you able to get the microchip number? They look a lot alike.

They didn’t give me the microchip number, the vet scanned it and only gave me the registered number and name. I am in contact with the cat rescue, they said tomorrow they’re going to delve further to see if they can find any more info about the owner and hopefully they can find something out! If they can’t find anything out I will reach out to the flyer you sent; her collar has a very specific pattern on it and if they can tell me what’s on her collar I’ll think she is theirs

Sounds good. Hope you can figure it out! Good luck! I'd love to know if you find the owner.

I will definitely reply and let you know!

Update: the cat rescue called me tonight and said the owner is unable to keep her and has been trying to rehome her for a while. We think the owner put her outside because she couldn’t find her a new home. The cat rescue is planning to take her back to Waxahachie and put her into a pet shop to try finding her another home :(

I'm pretty sure setting a rescued cat outside because you no longer want it breaks the contract they should have signed with the rescue in the first place. I hope the rescue takes action against that former owner!

They can’t prove she intentionally put her outside, but we believe it because this building is entirely indoors, all indoor hallways etc. and the cat was outside on the street crying loudly at one of the exits from the building. So for one, how did she get outside, and two - the cat clearly knew that exit was the way in/out of the building. And clearly an indoor cat!

i'm glad you helped out the kitty!

Im sorry to hear that. I hope she has a speedy way to find a new home. Poor girl

If you wanted a bit of good news, we decided to keep her! Broke my heart thinking of having to go through another homing process

That's awesome news! So glad she gets to stay in a loving home. You're good people

Could this be the same cat? https://www.pawboost.com/landing/pet/FtE7Xnrce7OU-XCb5oM3Z1OxgQ2L7dCh/lost-rio-plano-tx-75074?utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=photo_post_link

I think that cat is a bit more brown tinted and has more white patches

Some kitty got too curious! Hoping for a reunion update.
