There’s a lot of wifeslop recipes which involve casually adding half a pound of cream cheese/cup of heavy or sour cream and not thinking twice about it.
Yeah no shit it tastes better, it also puts you on the fast track to heart disease.
Depending on the serving size, half a pound really isn't that much if it's between like 4 people, especially for a casserole type meal. I will admit I am slightly biased because I'm guilty of it myself, it's just such an easy method of getting a white sauce compared to doing a roux from scratch.
Uh no? RDI for sat fat is 30g in men, average amount in 2 ounces of cream cheese is about 7, so only about a quarter, no idea where you're getting 80% from, even on the lower end that's still less than fifty percent. Besides, you should be getting the majority of your caloric and nutritional intake from your main meal of the day, especially since these sort of recipes are designed to be one pot/tray so they're meant to be complete meals on their own or with a side of vegetables. And besides you can get low fat dairy for this exact reason.
Even in regarded countries like the US where decades of lobbying from the sugar industry has demonized every other macronutrient that isn't carbohydrates, that still only represents the lower end, which 7g still gets nowhere close to 80% of your intake. Interesting that American studies indicate that people who consume less saturated fats consume less protein and more carbohydrates...
Two for one psyop: 1) denigrate the value of having a wife and family, 2) dilute the meaning of "slop" so common culture war terms like "goyslop" are less impactful.
Ayy guyslop rise up. You can just eat straight from the fridge, no need to sit down and set the table. There's bread, cereals, milk, cheese, eggs, seeds, legumes, almonds, dried meat, actual meat (all I eat raw is horse tho), canned tuna, fruits and vegetables
I'd like to laugh at girldinner too but I'm not in a position to speak
Hey! It's not good to be a picky eater you know? You can't just eat tendies everyday, pickles are basically a vegetable and fruit loops have qualities that sorta remind you of a fruit, their combination was simply inevitable, I think?
I never ever had a gf that could do decent wifeslop. One was almost at that point but she self-diagnosed herself with histamine intolerance or some shit and it all went to hell afterwards.
Personally I'd say the rice bowl is the ultimate slop, near-infinite combinations of possible flavors based on whatever leftover meat and veggies you have in the fridge, pick a complementary sauce/seasoning and you're good
Before my wife moved in I had hamburger helper for dinner basically every night. Beef for protein, not tough to make, leftovers for the next day. Life was good. Still is, but guychow is always viable.
It takes maybe an hour to cook a real good dinner where everything is cooked the right way. I have no idea why people throw a pizza in the over or make some disgusting casserole with Campbell's Cream or Mushroom or Chicken soup as a base. Then watch TV / scroll on the phone for 4 hours. It's not that hard to cook.
Yeah, I realised it's not that strange when I wrote it but it was to me at the time. I used to eat jam with bread or cheese with bread but when there was no more bread - what do?

Even then, a cool 80% of the RDI for saturated fat for one dish in one meal not including butter or anything else.

Making a roux from scratch takes like 5 minutes?
CaptainWeekend@reddit
And using cream/ cream cheese takes like two seconds? Time is a premium for some people, and not to mention a cream sauce usually tastes better.

I fucking love wifeslop.
As a man who has been single for far too long, living in the oil patches, eating burgers, brats, and gas station food..
I can't think of anything better than some homemade ziti or lasagna. A tuna casserole is Michelin level cuisine for me.

It's figure of speech. You put the pickle in the loop and milk comes out. I can't be the only one getting this.
