where and how much?
DewaltMaximaCessna@reddit
$100/hr for chief instructor in Massachusetts…really raised in the last few years
$165/ hr wet for a Cherokee 140
Acceptable-Wrap4453@reddit
ECAC out of Hanscom?
DewaltMaximaCessna@reddit
3B0
Acceptable-Wrap4453@reddit
Man no kidding. 100/hrs. How close are you to KFIT?
DewaltMaximaCessna@reddit
45 min drive
Acceptable-Wrap4453@reddit
And how far is southbridge?
DewaltMaximaCessna@reddit
15 min drive
Acceptable-Wrap4453@reddit
Yah. I think FIT may only be 15-20/hr cheaper so probably not worth the drive.
And FIT doesn’t have a decent approach in IMC due to R4102A so instrument training is kind of a PITA when the weather gets bad.
Big-Carpenter7921@reddit
Lol $220/hr is the cheapest IFR plane within 100miles of where I live
DewaltMaximaCessna@reddit
Do I really have to ask where
Al_the_Alligator@reddit
$100/hrs based on Hobbs or total time with instructor.
DewaltMaximaCessna@reddit
Total time
AvailableAd4131@reddit
$45/hr Hobbs
Big-Carpenter7921@reddit
Too much considering what I know the flight school actually gives to them
Aviator91990@reddit
Ohio $55/hour cfi and $65/hour cfii
BaloneyWater@reddit
Was paying $65 during continuous instrument training, now $75 for backcountry/AFR and any checkouts. Flying club in mountain west.
BrianAnim@reddit
Former ground instructor here turned CFI, $60 / hr for CFI work. $30/hr if we do ground training here in my home office.
walleyednj@reddit
Not a damn penny…but my CFI is my brother so I got the family discount.
Jewishtrain105@reddit
Last I checked it was $68/hour for multi at a part 61 school.
jettajake00@reddit
$65/hr for PPL.
Anything beyond (advanced single engine) is $75/hr.
Multi $100/hr. Hobbs time.
Ground $65/hr
ScJo@reddit
Depends. New cfi $55 hourly. New cfii 65. Experienced guys charge 75-85 and the chief instructor was like 105 per hour in California,
but he’d bill you for full mock check rides even if the ground wasn’t good enough to go fly and he had like a 75% chance of pulling an obscure question from an info advisory circular or letter of agreement that none of the instructors were teaching before they sent you to the stage check to get signed off for the actual checkride.
So.. 200 an hour
Al_the_Alligator@reddit
Based on Hobbs or total time with instructor?
ScJo@reddit
Total usually is about the same as the Hobbs. It only differs by about 0.3
x4457@reddit
Handshake to handshake.
Ok_Currency_787@reddit
$68 an hour for a senior instructor in Georgia- so a CFII. I think they get paid around 40 of that?
cofonseca@reddit
I paid $80/hr for instruction during my PPL training. I think check instructors were billed at $90/hr. Rhode Island (KPVD).
justarandomguy07@reddit
The school I went to (I still rent from there) charges $70/hr now. It was $60 two years ago.
InJailForCrimes@reddit
$70/hr hobbs
RiverFrogs@reddit
40/hr based on Hobbs time
TurbulentSir7@reddit
Alaska. 80 an hour for the instructor, think maybe 25-35 goes to the instructor though
TheOvercookedFlyer@reddit
My flight school charges $95 per hour but we only get about $20-ish. (Canadian dollars)
omalley4n@reddit
That's criminal
