PSA has been trying to sell both discontinued LVPOs at these prices for many months. I bought the new Vortex Venom 1-6x for $229 with mount and free shipping. It is better than the Strike Eagle.

Is it still that price? I've been looking around for the Venom 1-6 and the cheapest I've found is $308 with mount after coupon code NOVEMBER12, and $240 without mount.
I have the Strike Eagle 1-6 with Mount, and it's not bad. At 6x it looks great (unlike the 1-8, which at 8x which looks terrible). The "issues" with the Strike Eagle 1-6x24 appear to be that at 1x it is more like 1.25X, the throw lever is plastic, and the illunimation doesn't have "off" settings between the various brightness settings. The Venom fixes all three of these "issues" while also having slightly better glass.
I put issues in quotes above because they are small issues. The Strike Eagle 1-6 is fantastic at $230 with the mount. But the Venom at sub 300 with mount is a better setup. Even at $350 with mount it may be the better setup per dollar spent.
I'm looking to upgrade to the Venom 1-6, but since I just spent the $230 on the Strike Eagle 1-6 a month ago, I need to find a good deal on the Venom to make it worth it to me. I can recoup some of the money I spent on the Strike Eagle by selling it on GAFS for 75-100 less than I paid for it, but again... I'd need to find a good deal on the Venom to make this worth it.

I bought the Venom LPVO during a 1-day sale at AR1Discounts. If you use the search tool in the gundeals subreddit you can find at least four postings in the last 3 months. The mount is a low cost Vortex mount which is okay but I'll probably change it out for a Leopold mount which offers an optional half ring that supports both offset and piggyback mount for red dots.

Read reviews of the 1-8x. The 1-6x is actually better. Unusable magnification level or poor image quality comes with cheap 1-8x scopes.
