Brain rot is pretty close to Gen X in absolute randomness and asshole humor.

I watch insane brain rot memes and it reminds me of Liquid television or Spike and Mikes sick and twisted. 22 minutes of the worst family on the Internet is the funniest thing I have seen younger generations make. DaFuq boom could have been made in the 90's and nobody would know. The first generation to make any sense to me is also the most annoying generation, go figure.

I this about my kid so much. He’s Gen A and the things he says … we were running an errand and he says “hey check out the kidnapper three thousand” about an unmarked slightly older white commercial van on the road in front of us. Then he proceeds to tell me that “it’s an improvement over the kidnapper 1,000 - they removed all the fake company logos”
He says the most random things and I think to myself “bruh that is so random and dark and totally hilarious”.

I have a pair of 14-year-olds.
They both have a dark sarcastic streak that makes me proud. My wife never developed the gallows humor (she's closer to millennial) or the dry non-sequitur sarcasm, so she is increasingly baffled by the conversations I have with the kids.

It allows me to feel really connected to my kids. I know them in a way their other parent doesn’t. He’s really missing out IMO.

I am an older Gen X guy. I don’t even know Spike and Mike or Liquid Television. I mostly know shit that happened in pop culture in the 80s. Why am i even telling you this? You don’t care and neither do i! I do have brain rot.

Both were animated randomness from early 90's. One was late night MTV and the other was on the VHS rental rack not too far from Faces of Death and Heavy Metal, lol

Faces Of Death damn. I rented it back then and can’t unsee it, brutal!

I miss Liquid Television.

Loved both of those myself back in the day. Got a link to this new thing?

Agreed. Gen A is the first post-X generation to come along with a similar kind of absurd, off-the-wall sense of humour.
