Is there a name to having wheels sticking out like this?

I like how the wheels sticking out on this charger. Was wondering if there’s a particular name to this fitment. And does anyone have any idea if it’s been done to a 6th gen civic?

Dumb

I agree. Which is why I like it.

Fair enough. As others have said though, you run the risk of causing damage as well as having your wheels come flying off on the highway if you do it wrong. IMO there are plenty of other mods for a civic that I would do instead

Mannnn. Might have to pass it up then. Too many downsides. What mods would you suggest.
OrionsGoToEngineer@reddit
A lot of the same things these guys did

It’s called poke and if that MFr throws on some Amazon flares or rolls those fenders he’ll be sitting right.
punkassjim@reddit
Richard Brunning would likely place that amount of poke right smack in the middle between “cheeky bugger” and “taking the piss.”
tyttuutface@reddit
It's called bad fitment.

So I shouldn’t do it?

If it requires putting on really thick wheel spacers it's usually bad for the bearing as it puts alot more pressure on them, also it'll mess with the steering angle on sharp turns, but if your not bothered by those things, then you do you.
totaltomination@reddit
It’s called a great way to flick rocks into traffic and abrasive blast your quarter panels

Noooo 😞 my dreams, crushed . . .
totaltomination@reddit
What do you think spats and fender liners are for? Now take the outside edge of the wheel and shove it past them and see how well they then do that job.
GetRektJelly@reddit (OP)
I guess I’ll keep my dreams to gta online cars with f1 wheels 😔
totaltomination@reddit
You might find a Prowler or build something open wheeled like an Exocet

Fairly popular on shitbox imports in SoCal - 6th gen civics being a prime example. Definitely heard some racist names for the style based on the kind of guys that tend to drive them.

So that other commenter was using a slur. Thanks for the input

It’s offset and can damage your axles or spindles. Also dumb unless you wide body your fenders. It’s basically a poor man’s wide body.
GetRektJelly@reddit (OP)
I like the look without the wide body parts. To me it gives off race car vibes and the dumb look kinda adds to it. Idk why I like it
AKA_Squanchy@reddit
You’re not different, my bet is that you’re just young. I’d guess around 20.

I will make a post of my finished project car in about two years time and you will see what I do. Something no one has seen before(and it will look good). . .
rudbri93@reddit
sadly once that car sees some real suspension travel the front fenders are gonna rub like crazy.

Dumb

I agree. Which is why I like it.
Whizzleteets@reddit
Well, in the late 60s and 70s it was the norm
MaybeVladimirPutinJr@reddit
Those wheels are not sticking out past the fenders. More importantly, that's not a civic.
GetRektJelly@reddit (OP)
Yup, not a civic. Not cool. 👎
Whizzleteets@reddit
It's a civic with a 70s Challenger mod kit.
dikkiesmalls@reddit
Poke. Its not the best fitment.
GetRektJelly@reddit (OP)
Thanks. Someone claims it throws rocks to traffic. If that’s the case, won’t think of doing it.
dikkiesmalls@reddit
Yeah anything gets stuck in those treads the quarterpanels are gonna take a peppering
Haydos21@reddit
In Australia it's called illegal.
rudbri93@reddit
'poke' is usually how i hear it referred to.
