Dinosaurs in movies shouldn't growl

They are the ancestors of birds, so they probably sounded like birds.
"Cluck, Cluck!" Run for your lives. It's a T Rex!
"Quack, quack." Don't worry, brontosauruses are vegetarian."
"Chirp, chirp." What was that? Quick, use the Merlin app to find out.

If you ask most current respectable paleontologists who specialize in dinosaurs, they would most likely hiss and chirp, similar to lizards, crocodilians, and snakes.
That’s just the most similar extant species morphologically. Some of the bird like dinosaurs would probably sound like birds to a certain extent.
Of course, hisses and chirps would sounds very different if you scaled them up and made them more bass-y in proportion to a larger sauropod, T-Rex, etc.
They could also use different sounds based on other features, like clacking jaws/beaks in rhythms, or some other bird like behaviors.

Why are you here

Because it’s a cool idea and I wanted to comment?

We've evolved too. Should we not be able to use words in movies because of a discrepancy between noises we make and those of distant relative?

If a bird was as big as a dinosaur, you would be highly surprised about the sounds that would come out of it.

If I met a bird the size of I dinosaur, you would be highly surprised about the sounds that would come out of me.

You've never heard a chicken that's pissed the fuck off before. Trust me, they can growl adequately

Try to touch a hen that’s sitting on eggs, record the noise and pitch it down based on the dinosaur’s size. Instant dino noises.

I'm hesitant to post it here but if people want it I will. I used suno AI to come up with a song about how dinosaurs didn't roar but in fact they honked and bellowed. The chorus is needlessly catchy.
Egghhhghhh@reddit
I need to hear this, have you posted it?

Here you go. AI wrote the words so they suck but my god what a chorus.

Everything OP knows about birds is from the Ol Mcdonald children's song.

More gobble like turkeys or boom like ostriches. Something 6 ft tall doesn't sound like a sparrow. Humpback songs sped up sound like song birds.
