What kind of collision is this? I was on a double turn lane, on the second to left lane. The driver was on the left-most lane. While turning, the driver didn't stay in their lane and hit the side of my car.

It’s a very common collision, caused by drivers who dont know how to drive properly. Whenever i find myself in a double turning lane, i assume the guy beside me is going to screw up and stay out of his way.

It also doesn't help that drivers in the turn lane of the opposite direction you're trying to turn into will stop right on top of the line or even over it instead of behind it, forcing those in the leftmost lane to have to avoid the cars waiting at the light.

Every damn time and I drive a cargo van, not exactly small or hard to see

it's an unsafe lane change.
