Omg! This was a total ritual for my mom and me to sit down on Sun and watch the Young Ones! About 20 years ago I bought the full series on DVD and am proud to know that I'm not the only person who remembers they were on MTV! I even introduced my kids (when they were teens/preteen) to this show and we used to joke that it'd make a great Halloween costume for our family of 4 - unfortunately I'd be Rick but we thought the youngest and therefore shortest of our family be mike , my husband Neil and our wanna be punk rocker teen be Vivian was just too funny .

I loved that show. I went to school with some English students on a semester abroad at my college. I had some recordings of the show and Danger Mouse. They asked to watch some because they missed home a bit. You used to be able to see episodes on YouTube.

This is one of my favorite shows of all time. Sometimes, I consider what a special episode sequel would look like after all this time.

I think it should be at the bottom of the canyon where the bus blew up. Vyvian and Mike have been in comas for 40 years while Neil thanklessly kept them alive.

Miraculously, BD survived the collision with the telephone poll and he had to make a choice between saving him or Rik. Rik has become a sort of posthumous cult leader in his own right though since Neil had to publish the Peoples' Poet's material in order to support everyone over the decades.

I lived for this show. Hell, it still holds up beautifully.

Quick story- in junior high school, our school board was constantly proposing levies during election season, and decided to get the art students involved in painting the signs. One huge sign was composed of giant letters spelling, “LEVY”, and the principal asked for silhouettes of students’ heads positioned in the letters; four of us participated, each assigned a letter. I chose “V”, and copied the Young Ones head outlines from the closing credits. Nobody had any idea of the reference, and the sign sat alongside a busy thoroughfare in town. Fond memory, that.
