Guide to State Sandwiches

Obviously I could make pretty much any of these, but is there a plano in Plano, Allen, McKinney that has unique sandwiches like this? The Vermonter sounds good. No need to comment on the Texas sandwhich. That's not hard to find.

For the Illinois one, head to Portillo's. There's one in Allen, and one in Grandscape/The Colony. The hardest part of the sandwich to find locally is the giardinieria. They also sell that separately. It's really more of a Chicago area sandwich than one representing all of Illinois, but that's what they picked.

I’ve had one, both in Chicago and at Portillos. Very tasty and unique

I don't think this was on the list, but I'll check it out. They don't seem to have a website. What's in the sandwich?

India’s finest spicy sandwich.. It’s veggie but flavorful. They got a few other Indian variety sandwiches there that you can’t find anywhere else in this area. Worth a try if you are daring

For the NY one, try NY Deli News in Plano and order the Pastrami. It is spot on.
There are a lot of Bahn Mi places nearby.
I heard good things about the Sandwich Spot https://www.thesandwichspotfrisco.com/order-online

IMO Deli News has gone way downhill since they were sold.
It’s still ok but not like it used to be.

I'm going to check out The Sandwich Spot this week. It's right by my office. Thanks!

Mr. G’s Deli that is in the back of a specs is a great sandwich spot that has a large variety of sandwiches that all pretty much are good. Otherwise you’re going to have to divide and conquer and go to individual spots for each one like Latin pig for a Cuban.

I didn't think one place had all 50 sandwiches. Used to go to Mr. G's all the time when I worked for Huffines dealerships.

Burnt at Parker/custer has Navajo bread sandwiches.
For banh mi , I suggest Quoc Bao in Garland.
Mr G’s is great as mentioned.

Mr. G’s is a fail in my book! Best Cuban I have found in the area is Bella Flan on Arapaho in Richardson. My spouse is a good sandwich lover so I make most at home.
