Is kinda weird how people are obsessed with the p320 not being drop safe when no 1911 pattern handgun is either but 2011’s are still a hot commodity.
This can be eliminated with either a series 80 1911 with a firing pin block or a titanium firing pin in a 70 series 1911. The titanium firing pin doesn't make it 100% drop safe but drastically lowers the chances to where you'd have the same chance to win the lottery.
I mean yes, but also there are plenty of 1911s with either the Series 80 or the Swartz type firing pin block. But yeah, 2011s and traditional 1911s do not have this feature.
Wtf. Are you actually trying to make an excuse or reason downplaying for a critical design failure and QC oversight? Like sure you say "not cool to NOT be drop safe" but the whole rest of your comment is like "here's why that's not a big deal"
Let's assume not being drop safe isn't a big deal, the fact that Sig made a gun intending for it to be drop safe, and failed to notice that a critical component of their advertised safety features did not fucking work, is absolutely a big deal.
My understanding is that PSA has great prices because they are factory blems. Nothing that affects the shoots, just enough superficial stuff that yhey can't get full price.
I was so pissed because I just found one at the pawn shop for 425 otd yesterday (check my post history) so of course I nabbed it, then went and saw the Romeo 1 pro on sale for 230 at PSA so nabbed that as well.
Now PSA has the whole package (and a new gun not used) for 700. DAMMIT PSA
If it makes you feel better, dude, you beat the sale imo.
425+230= 655
If you got it from PSA you would have had to pay FFL fees, which at a decent shop would have cost you around $50
That puts you well above the sale, and I almost exclusively buy used guns. Sounds like a win to me, bro. If anything this sale validates your purchase as a pretty good one.
Yeah I think you’re right, the math is on my side. Generally in the past I’ve avoided used guns like the plague because I had a bad experience years back with a used Hellcat. Still, I think once I get this bad boy out to the range I’ll feel better.
Why buy that when you could get an VP series HK or a Walther or a S&W Performance Center or even a Glock and any of them would be a significantly better (and safer) gun than a SIG lol

I remember the last time I dropped my handgun onto a hard surface at a very specific angle causing it to go off.
Not really though. Yea of course it's not cool to NOT be drop safe but maybe don't drop your sidearm in the first place?

1911s aren’t drop safe?! Shit I’ve dropped mine a few times, glad I’m still here.
claybryse@reddit
I mean they go off when you drop them on the front, they fire into the ground which isn’t so bad as up at a 45 degree angle but still

This is fair, mostly people just accept the additional safety issues for ease of maintenance and continue with series 70 pattern.

I did see that video if you're referring to the Garand Thumb one. I agree with your sentiment entirely.

Maybe it’s a feature and not a bug. Like in True Lies when she drops the Mac-10 down the stairs.
