[Dashcam] Dallas woman rages at me for her near miss

Beacon @ Columbia. I was turning left in the right-most left turn lane. There's a gap in between each clip from my dashcam (thanks Nextbase) but she turned wide into my lane and almost T-boned me. She was irate, yelling about how I almost hit her car, waving her arms and telling me to pull over. I noped out of there as soon as I could. Maybe an insurance scam attempt? Or just a plain ol' idiotic Dallas driver?

This happens to me all the time turning left on the 75 service road crossing at Knox Henderson. I turn in front of Dickies and almost get hit at least once a week. And they always yell at me as though I'm at fault.
nfluncrs_rnt_stylst@reddit
This has happened to me and I was so confused why the person trying to swing wide was mad at me?!? The woman chased me in her car for over 30 minutes it was so so scary .

Driving specifically on the Dallas side of the metroplex has gotten very terrible lately. I recently started a new job in Fort Worth and driving there is far more enjoyable. Maybe sometimes there are similar situations, but nowhere as near as much on the Dallas side. Dallas is super super chaotic and stressful.
OrangeUnlucky760@reddit
Your camera not working on the best part is insane
CommanderSquirt@reddit
In my experience about 75-80% of the drivers in this city cannot execute a double turn correctly no matter how well the lines are drawn and visible.
broniskis45@reddit
And suburbs. Something about dfw and double right turns I always gotta be extra defensive.
axis_n_allies@reddit
Wait till you do roundabouts for a daily commute
SadBit8663@reddit
I don't understand people's trouble with roundabouts. They're not complicated, there's nothin hard about driving in Circle.
Why do roundabouts break people's brains?
gt0163c@reddit
There's the one over in SW Fort Worth with the yield IN the circle that causes all sorts of trouble.
Amissa@reddit
That one is f*cked up. Right where the stupid yield sign is, the sun glares during the evening rush hour.
texan01@reddit
I sing "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" from Finding Nemo in my head when navigating roundabouts, some of my friends have picked up on that and seems to help them navigate those features better.
Unlucky-Watercress30@reddit
I live right next to one and honestly they tend to have the same idiocy rate as the traffic lights. The only difference is that the idiots can't do as much damage while driving recklessly through them.
Quirky_Object_4100@reddit
Light turned red on me when I was making a left turn so I came to a stop. The car behind me went around me and made that left turn, right when perpendicular traffic’s light was green. I’ll take roundabouts over intersections. I was a sitting duck fora very high chance of a T-bone right in my face
AdOwn5055@reddit
Always take the outside lane on a double lane turn and be prepared to “herd” and honk.
Staying in one lane to make a turn seems incomprehensible here. 🤷♂️
Sporadicus76@reddit
*In this state
SadBit8663@reddit
That's because they're stupid as hell and refuse to use their eyes and brain
Solid_Ad_9334@reddit
Or a 4 way stop no matter how many lanes on each side
Substantial-Part-700@reddit
Wait until you see the double lane roundabout in Sachse
CommanderSquirt@reddit
I bet it's a shit show at times since people lose their minds at roundabouts, too. Mainly because they can't follow directions, read signs or stay inside lines.
Substantial-Part-700@reddit
101%
MadNugs7@reddit
Yikes.... I just smile and wave.
jenny_in_texas@reddit
Dallas drivers are the scariest!
I had someone shoot out my back window on the side road of 75 between Arapaho and Campbell a few years ago.
Chris079099@reddit
A lot of people have no effing clue how double turn lanes work. Best to just keep your distance from anyone in double turn lanes
stutteringwhales@reddit
Double right turns are the bane of my existence. I have one to get to my house and NOBODY understands them
CornyNIGHTMARE@reddit
How is this so tucking hard? She could just slowed down and merged anyways. No rage no BS.
Itchy_Dark4359@reddit
Live in Texas they said the hospitality is amazing they said. That it is indeed. NOT😂
Konnnan@reddit
You should still send this to her insurance.

East Dallas
FruityPebblesBinger@reddit
Nothing as dramatic as this, but I once have a guy yell at me for doing exactly what you did.
I just calmly yelled back that I commute through this intersection (Fitzhugh turning north on 75 service road) every day, and it's a double turn lane. He wasn't buying it and thought I was an idiot.
He was driving his company truck (small business), and I was able to figure out who the guy was. I AAAAALMOST emailed a screenshot of the Google Street View to him from an fake email address, but thought better of it.
jw1299@reddit
what a stupid human being.
envision83@reddit
The proper thing to do is let her get out and hit her not too to hard with your car driving away in fear.
melinatedmama@reddit
Sick of them.
CubedMeatAtrocity@reddit
I go through that intersection a lot and am always cautious for this reason. The supermercado on the corner has a HUGE spice selection and the best damn onions and avocados in town.
Bsilly32@reddit
100% of the time I’m ramming after the first brake check. Let my insurance figure the rest out with my dash cam. Doors remain locked until cops get there. Too old for that bs
leftpan@reddit
You should probably be careful about this course of action. I’ve seen people on body cam or dash cam basically admit to the cop that they didn’t brake intentionally and then the whole plan kind of unravels on you.
samie4g@reddit
You made the best decision to just remove yourself from the situation. That takes a lot of maturity.
mondo_d00k@reddit
Watch out for the pew-pew. These folks are unhinged.
lifegoeson5322@reddit
You did the right thing. Never get out of your car around these wackos. If they keep trying, drive to the nearest police station. Sorry.
StingraySurfer@reddit
This week on Cops.
ViscountDeVesci@reddit
That road rage scenario happens on northbound Buckner at Garland every day.
123tnf@reddit
Had someone hit me in that very same situation in Ft Worth earlier this year at 35W. Damaged my rear passenger door. They couldn't drive away because it smashed their radiator. Absolute idiots.
ReefLedger@reddit
Yet another reason I haven't owned in a car in 10+ years and do not miss driving at all. Way too many dumbasses on the roads here.
redmenace77@reddit
Don't worry, she'll probs end up having a coronary in the not so distant future. So many angry people these days just needing an excuse to spew it outwardly at someone for something so inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.
Glad you decided to gtfo and avoid her altogether.
bugyourparents-@reddit
Exercise your 2nd amendment!!
SanjiReddit@reddit
That doesnt look like a honda civic. Insurance fraud
Admirable_Review_856@reddit
Why do people think getting out of there car to confront someone is a good idea?? Especially in Texas which is an open carry state??? No way I would be that dumb to walk up on someone’s car!!!
vangoghvanlife@reddit
And Texas has a lot of gun-involved road rages reported. But hey I'm ok with Darwinism working on this one.
Admirable_Review_856@reddit
Exactly some people just don’t learn until it’s too late!!
ThorManhammer@reddit
Plain old idiot. Smart move driving away
krollAY@reddit
Had this happen to my wife once while I was in the car. The guy was mad at her because she was only going 35 in a 30 and slowed down for a yellow we weren’t going to make it through. He came up on us before that light and had to have been going 50 through a residential area. I guess he was fuming the whole time and whipped around us when the light turned green, brake checked us, and started getting out of his car.
Nah bro, I’m not going to listen to you bitch, you can just be mad at nothing. Bye.
Cansum1helpme@reddit
Yep, good choice, GTFO of there.
