Never had the falling dreams but I get sleep paralysis out the ass. And if I wake up and go back to sleep right away the nightmare resumes. I have to get up and walk around to reset my regarded brain
Not intentionally. Although what I'm describing is probly different cuz it's a literal dream (presumably REM). I'll be aware I'm dreaming cuz I'm paralyzed and my bedroom will be distorted or they'll be a monster's shadow or whatever. I've never been paralyzed while awake.
Fun fact, this happens when falling asleep because your body reduces your heart rate, most systems in your body go into sleep mode essentially, but every once in awhile your heart rate slows down too much, and you are basically about to die, so how does your brain counteract this problem? By saying hey bro you're falling lol, and your adrenal glands chimp out, kickstarting your heart.
This happened to me just when I was dozing off, I'm dying laughing rn because when it did happen I donkey kicked my cat off the bed 😭 lil dude didn't sleep next to me since

How do you deal with sleep paralysis? I'd feel scared to sleep if I had it
Candid_Interview_268@reddit
Do you sleep on your back or stomach by any chance? That's known to increase the risk of sleep paralysis.
