Tentatively the middle of next week, however I think we all know how that's going to play out with Thanksgiving. A safer bet might be the Monday or Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
gmr had lots of issues when they originally released the mbt it was unsafe. I don't think they tested their products at all. tbh I don't think they have found a solution that's why it is taking so long.
I have cut my S3gs for use on a skoprints cam and lever with no issues
They did have issues. The tolerances of the cam weren't correct, and they have supposedly corrected that moving forward. Not something I really want to beta test, just putting it out there.
I bought a SS and trigger from GMR and put it in my Lee Sporting lower and the curved end of the back of the trigger was slightly sticking up out of the safety hole, which did not allow me to insert the SS into the lower. So I think their triggers are out of spec.
I bought a SSA-E X Trigger with the intent to make it work with the SS. I'm just going to try to use my dremel to sand down the trigger enough for it to work.
None of them were glowie, no. This was at an indoor range and everybody stopped what they were doing and had mouths gapped bigger than an only fan model's chocolate starfish.
I guess the 13" barrel with a brake on it caught some folks off guard haha. That brake (epsilon vg6) had my shit level and controllable as a mofucker.
The VG6 brakes are no joke, they work incredibly I just removed mine to replace them with Surefire 3 Prong and Surefire Closed Tine to run my Rotex on.
That being said, I got the death stare from several people...including the poor gun next to us from the muzzle blast on an 11.3" AR. First and last time that gun went to the indoor range.
Haven’t had a chance to run it yet, I was gonna test it with some buddies on their land this weekend but that’s getting pushed past Thanksgiving. Install was easy, just make sure you get the kit with the trigger so you don’t need to grind yours down. Function check dry so far looks fine. I also got an H3 buffer cause ive heard running an H buffer will cause it to jam.
I went with the grey market research SS and so far not much luck. I'm waiting for my BCM Mk2 buffer system and a couple different buffers to arrive. Hopefully that will fix my bolt bounce issue.
No I'm not certain, but yes function checks are gtg and it runs fine in semi.
I can get some bursts but mostly it's single shot followed by a light primer strike on the following round. According to the ss troubleshooting I've found, most light primer strikes is caused by bolt bounce.
If that's not the case, the only other thing I can think would be maybe the ss lever engaging with the BCG too hard and slowing it down. Haven't read reports of that but if that is the case it might also get solved with a heavy buffer and spring. I don't want to polish/sand any more of the lever down.
Not quite drop in. But that is by design. It is left with some room for you to fine tune it. DeezNutz is a great company and he’ll help you with any issues you have. My friend got the complete kit in Minecraft, installed, and the trigger pull was around 30 pounds for full semi auto. So he had to remove the trigger, and on some fine grit sand paper, drag it across the rounded cut very gently, just letting just the weight of the trigger push it into the sand paper. After about 4 passes of that, he reinstalled it and it is absolutely perfect with a normal trigger pull poundage in semi and full semi.
Got one in a 9mm. I had a FRT before which had needed a BCG that had a fairly low profile bolt weight (AR9s have extra weight pinned in the back) but the SS needed even more room. Cut the weight to flush and it worked. The SS trigger will feel kinda bound up if you lower the bolt slowly because the safety and lever need to rotate. If the trigger isn't totally smooth on the cut points it might be worth lightly sandpapering and polishing to make that feel a little better.
Almost. Usually requires you step up your buffer weight a bit. Go H2 or H3 on a 5.56, and go with a combined 23 oz or greater reciprocating mass on an AR9.
Yea $100 is a rip off. Guess he’s first to sell on this sub tho. $60-70 was the going price and that’s even higher considering they get them under $10 a set. 10x markup seems high but ymmv
The option that's listed as "precut" is showing out of stock. There are a bunch of options that don't say anything about being cut in the listing. Are they all cut?
You probably didn't see my edit - I realized they had photographed that one trigger from the opposite direction of every other trigger they have so it looked different but on closer inspection of the others I can see they also have that cut, it's just very difficult to see.
I think most recommend a jig if modifying a stock Mil-spec trigger. But I think most would recommend one buy a modified trigger with their Super Safety.
Also sending you a PM. I placed an order yesterday and got website confirmation but never received any email confirmation. So I have no clue if my order went through but my credit card was charged just no clue why I didn't get email confirmation...
I picked up a LaRue triggers for $85 a few weeks ago from Primary Arms. Who has the Schmidt nickel coated trigger for the lowest price?
I think my Extra EP9 came with a Schmid trigger but I don't know offhand if it's the nickel coated version. Whatever it came with is good enough for me to not care to bother to put in a Larue trigger. The Larue trigger is slightly better but I'm not doing long distance precision shooting with my 9mm EP9.
I installed that spring kit in an AR-15 mil-spec trigger. It does reduce the pull weight but if there are other issues with the trigger such as having a lot of creep it'll still have those issues. Some warn the lighter hammer spring can cause light primer strikes if one is using ammo with harder primers. Some claim the way to solve that is to use a bobbed hammer to reduce the hammer weight and thus increase the speed at which the hammer strikes the primer. Some cut their mil-spec Hammer so that it is bobbed while others may choose to buy a bobbed hammer such as the one that Anderson sells.
I have multiple LaRue triggers, but I was thinking a Schmidt modified for the Super Safety might be the right balance of cost and performance, along with the coating keeping it nice and smooth at the actuation point.
I was wondering when I'd see the SS show up here. For those that don't know. This is an frt (forced reset trigger), basically. Google super safety, and you'll find all the information you need. There's a Facebook page dedicated to the SS.
Semantics are the difference between legal and not, the bolt pushes a lever to turn the safety on after a shot and off as the bolt goes forward. As a result of the safety being engaged while the trigger is pulled the trigger is forced forward (reset). It is just slightly different from an FRT and therefore the ATF definition of an FRT does not apply. If you download the super safety files the documentation explains it much better.
Semantics. It’s the same concept of the bolt pushing a trip to reset the trigger, it just involves the safety having a unique cam surface to do the reset.
Interesting. I’m placed an order this past weekend and didn’t get an email, I ordered a couple weeks ago and order email came in. Good to hear it’s just a WP plugin issue 👌
Do these impact your trigger pull? I think this would be s hoot to run in my Tec47, but it has a very nice trigger straight from 21st Tech, so wouldn't want to ruin that
Coincidentally, MD as a whole is a blue ball state because these and any other trigger upgrades are technically illegal. Any trigger that increases the rate of fire is illegal. While I doubt they will know the difference between a mil-spec and G$ trigger. They would absolutely push your shit in over something like this, unfortunately. Fuck that state. In fact, MD probably has the most broad definition of what's considered illegal.
CA is a close second and probably tied with Hawaii for the worst trigger laws.
Depends on the state. There are 8 states where this would be illegal, and 2 more where it would be super sketch. Know your local laws. ATM federally, they are legal.
They are legal based on an interpretation of federal law where 1 actuation of the trigger = one bullet fired. Is it possible you run afoul of law enforcement and prosecutors who don't know/ don't care and have a different idea of the law? Yes. Is it likely? That probably depends where you live and the culture around shooting. Here in PA I feel very comfortable going super safe on private land with like-minded neighbors who don't mind the noise, I wouldn't go to a state game lands range and expect the game warden to not try to crawl fully up my ass after hearing or seeing what is basically indistinguishable from fully-automatic fire, which I would assume is breaking the rules of the range even if the weapon were legally compliant.
The nail that sticks up gets pounded, I would suggest if you're very risk adverse to skip it, and otherwise follow all laws and rules to a T.
That's true, but again don't expect a cop or a prosecutor to know this or care if you find yourself in the position where they feel it's in the public interest or their own to try to prove you're actually breaking state and federal law by owning a "machine gun".
The person asking wants to know if owning one will get him in trouble, not what the likelihood of a court deciding he actually was allowed to have it after paying 10s of thousands in legal fees and spending a bit of time behind bars.
FRTs are currently legal per the final ruling of the court that reversed the ATF's "single continuous pull" wording and instructed the ATF to return all seized property. That has been appealed, but will take a while for any updates to it and their argument remains the same so should have the same outcome.
DN is good to go in my experience. The "higher end" option is AS Designs, but they cost a little more. Grey Market Research is also good to go, haven't had an issue with them either.
ATF is now just starting to return FRT's to owners who handed them over to the ATF if they signed the correct form and are members of the gun right's group that took the ATF to court. This was ordered by a Federal judge.
The ATF won't do anything this year and with the new administration and a new head of the ATF I doubt anything there will be any issues for at least the next four years. Hopefully there will be a decision from SCOTUS before then that decides in favor of all these devices based on them requiring pulling the trigger for each round. If Congress could get a bill passed banning these and if there were a president in office at the time willing sign the bill into law the FRT and SuperSafety could be outlawed regardless of what the courts decide with the current case as the current case won't be decided based on 2A but based on current law.
A coworker of mine had them taken. ATF contacted him, told him what it was in regards to. He agreed to meet them at the police station. He found something online to either tell them or have them sign saying that he wasn't surrendering his rights to them and if the ATF lost their cour case that he wanted his property back. He said the people that met him looked like interns. After he turned the triggers over he asked them if they were even armed. They said they weren't. Then he wondered out loud about the wisdom of sending unarmed people out to collect what they are alleged to be illegal machine guns.
He has asked for his property back and it sounds like they're going to drag their feet until they either decide not to appeal the ruling or they lose the appeal.
The district court judge ordered the ATF to return the triggers within a short period of time and the ATF came back later and asked for additional time which the judge granted. A video from this past week from the 2A group which brought the case before the judge stated that they do have a report of the return of at least one trigger thus far and expect more to be returned over time. There are many reports from people stating that the ATF actually came to their door asking for the trigger and there may have even been one or more door cam videos. So there's plenty of proof that they actually did confiscate those triggers. The ATF themselves acknowledge they confiscated the triggers. Anyone who may have signed the wrong form may have had their trigger destroyed by the ATF because they gave up all future rights to their property.
Yeah, I don't think any end users actually got their trigger taken. Like show me one of those videos and I'll show you a hoax video.
I think Dimondeo or whatever Rare Breed's owner's name is had his inventory taken and the few retailers who actually carried them, I don't dispute that at all, but I am very skeptical of the claim that any consumer got their trigger taken, visited by the ATF or were even sent a letter.
Just read the case any reputable news source. You don't have to rely on social media and YouTube. The courts deals with facts and in this case ordered the ATF to return triggers they confiscated from individual gun owners.
The judge extended the time frame the ATF has to return the approximately 11,884 Rare Breed Triggers FRT-15s and Wide Open Triggers (WOT) it had confiscated from owners. Initially, Judge O’Connor gave the ATF 30 days to return all the triggers it confiscated from gun owners. The ATF went door to door to seize the triggers from owners but stated it could not return them in 30 days. The judge increased the time of the deadline by five months. The ATF now has six months to return all the triggers to their owners.
It wasn't confiscated but voluntarily surrendered after AFT badgering. First he got a letter to turn it in which he ignored, then a couple months later two visits from a \~half-dozen agents and a couple local PD. I know he consulted his attorney after the first visit and after that conversation decided to have it ready for turn in if they came again.
They did come again and he recorded the interaction where he simply handed it to them, said hes not answering any questions or filling out any paperwork, and to take him off the list and have a good day. He then closed the door. I get his reasons for turning it in despite my criticism of him about it at the time. This happened last year and it was over the wide open trigger sold from big daddy unlimited
Yes man someone I know IRL. I shot the thing when he first got it. He had it in a PSA. That thing shot fast af. It did jam a few times but we went through like 10 mags. I was surprised that it handled all that. PSA rocks lol. That damn trigger cost him as much as the gun
Okay Mr. Snark-nado, since you decided you be a snarky snark face, you'd have to shoot roughly 20k rounds for the money to be worth it. Printed SS typically lasts about 100-300 rds. You do the rest of the math. Ballpark about 10k-30k rounds on average before a metal one is worth the shipping and material cost. Easy choice for a toy Id use about once a month. No one is out here doing precision shooting on full auto.
I made a “snarky” comment because you made a silly comparison. Not everyone has a 3d printer, I think that adds to the cost of your $1.10 filament, but I didn’t do the rest of the math. I have no idea what a decent 3d printer costs.
I only bought the cam since I cut my own trigger but it's worked flawlessly. I have seen a few people post some issues about their triggers but that's because the spec sheet for the rounded side of the trigger is too shallow. This causes the trigger to not reset properly. You just need to sand off a little bit to make it rounded out. I'm not sure if this is a widespread issue however
I've heard good things about them but have also heard a lot of people have fitment issues with particular setups. Like a lot of gun parts things can get finicky
The place to seek answers is in r/supersafety or the Facebook group rather than post an everyday price on it here in Gundeals and then make a joke about one of the seller's names and ask questions about fitment.
If you don't like the name then why did you post them here as there are at least two other recommended sellers of the metal super safeties in that subreddit.
I get this is a metal version, but this was designed by Hoffman Tactical and intended to be 3D printed.
Also got his home raided by alphabet gang back when they were doing whatever the fuck they felt like.
You'd need to disassemble the grip to replace levers and safety barrel. So I suppose that's possible, but rather annoying to have to do after 200 rounds or so.
I think I recall someone claiming the 3D printed ones may work for about 200 rounds. I don't own a 3D printer and have never used one. I think I read the 3D printed design that allows selection of normal semi-auto is more likely to have issues due to material so they is one that has fewer options for operation mode. That is not a issue with the metal ones.
I have no experience in 3D printing but I imagine that's true. I was surprised to learn recently that someone can legally make their own suppressor after getting ATF approval by buying components off of Amazon and then 3D printing part of the suppressor using more durable material. Someone on a YouTube channel that covers this material was featured on a different channel. The individual does a lot of testing and he's tested some 3D material that is durable and not extremely expensive.
Hoffman hasn't had his home raided, that was twin bros, and we never got confirmation as to why. they were doing other weird shit including apparently importing parts from china(?)
So twin bros were super shady, not only were they selling things just on this side of legality (I believe SSs and FRTs follow the law, but the ATF has been given wide latitude to interpret law so YMMV) but they were also selling devices meant to convert Mac11-10s into open bolt weapons, which is a big federal no-no. At the same time, they were failing to keep up with orders and blowing off concerned customers trying to get what they ordered.
The source behind the "raid" news IIRC was an unknown twitter user who may have been TB themselves. So it's arguable a raid actually happened. If it did happen, it's arguable again whether the alleged crime was the SSs or open bolt mods (pepperjacks, they're called).
Now I don't know really but I feel like the raid is probably a hoax, just like most if not all of those supposed ATF agent visits to people who bought FRTs.
The only way you could argue that it was a raid was from the obvious SWAT vehicle. It didn't show a raid, it showed random cars + SWAT vehicle driving by. These type of neighborhood drama videos are easy to come by because nosy Karens love to post share them on Ring community sites.
It was also posted by a user that was brand new at the time of posting (March of 24), and who's only Karma is from the two main TwinBros posts at the time. The account also hasn't seen ANY activity since then.
IIRC one of the devices they were selling was a DIAS for MAC clones or AKs? but I also remember there is some law against importing gun parts manufactured overseas too? I'm not sure but it's very grey and I haven't seen any updates on it.
Twin bros was raided for selling straight up full auto parts kits for 3D printable guns. The supersafety was designed by Hoffman explicitly around the atf’s rules they issued in regards to why forced reset triggers were machine guns. The super safety, in an honest world free of fraud, is impossible to legally classify as a machine gun.
I have one of the Grey Market Research SS triggers in a Colt style 9mm AR and one in a 5.56 AR. Both run great from round 1.
I plan on removing the Franklin Armory binary trigger from the one rifle with it installed and go with the MBT-2S SS kit. The modified LaRue trigger version has been tasted by a few users on Arfcom and said to work great.
I let a few people try my 9mm SBR'ed AR and after firing a mag full, they all have smiles on their faces.
Depends on the material, but 3D printed is a few finished, basic metal is a few thousand, tool steel is longer than the lower or trigger (10s of thousands).
Comment by GMR in one of their videos is this month. I'd wait until buyers provide feedback. If others are working on it as GMR states then others may have one at some other date.

We have geissele SSA and ssa-e in process!
DwarfHoarder@reddit
Any eta on some more d2 kits?
DeezNutzTactical@reddit
Tentatively the middle of next week, however I think we all know how that's going to play out with Thanksgiving. A safer bet might be the Monday or Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

you can buy the jig to do it, I've heard of some people doing it but it's kinda crazy to slice into a 250$ trigger.
IrohZenCrosstrek@reddit
Would advise against the deez nuts jig. I ordered, and it came busted to hell.

Wouldn’t the benefits of a good trigger be negated by the fact it’s a FRT?
TheHuntForRedrover@reddit
No, with supers it's 3 position. You can do normal semis

followupquestion@reddit
Schmidt nickel coated might be the sweet spot. It’s smoother than mil-spec, half the price of a LaRue. Dang it, did I just talk myself into it?
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
I picked up a LaRue triggers for $85 a few weeks ago from Primary Arms. Who has the Schmidt nickel coated trigger for the lowest price?
I think my Extra EP9 came with a Schmid trigger but I don't know offhand if it's the nickel coated version. Whatever it came with is good enough for me to not care to bother to put in a Larue trigger. The Larue trigger is slightly better but I'm not doing long distance precision shooting with my 9mm EP9.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
On the Extar you can use the JP 3.5lb springs, for a cheap upgrade.
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Have not had any light strikes, This can NOT be used with the Extar, but it will fix the creep on your milspec trigger with the lighter springs in your AR15 https://www.joeboboutfitters.com/JoeBob-s-AR15-Grip-Screw-Trigger-Adjuster-p/jb-triggeradjuster.htm
followupquestion@reddit
I have multiple LaRue triggers, but I was thinking a Schmidt modified for the Super Safety might be the right balance of cost and performance, along with the coating keeping it nice and smooth at the actuation point.
stickyflow3rs@reddit
I was wondering when I'd see the SS show up here. For those that don't know. This is an frt (forced reset trigger), basically. Google super safety, and you'll find all the information you need. There's a Facebook page dedicated to the SS.
YXIDRJZQAF@reddit (OP)
Love that page lol, "will the super safety work in my MG42???"

Some semi-auto MG42s are outfitted with AR trigger groups. That’s a reasonable question

stickyflow3rs@reddit
I'm gonna say no but that certainly would be bad ass😂
Grouchy-Designer5804@reddit
Not exactly a forced reset trigger. A more accurate term is a forced safety reset.
codifier@reddit
What's the difference?
I genuinely have no idea
Grouchy-Designer5804@reddit
Semantics are the difference between legal and not, the bolt pushes a lever to turn the safety on after a shot and off as the bolt goes forward. As a result of the safety being engaged while the trigger is pulled the trigger is forced forward (reset). It is just slightly different from an FRT and therefore the ATF definition of an FRT does not apply. If you download the super safety files the documentation explains it much better.
Benzy2@reddit
Semantics. It’s the same concept of the bolt pushing a trip to reset the trigger, it just involves the safety having a unique cam surface to do the reset.

Will Deez Nuts Tactical ship to Blue Ball Village, MD?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Ball_Village,_Maryland
Swanky_Gear_Snob@reddit
Coincidentally, MD as a whole is a blue ball state because these and any other trigger upgrades are technically illegal. Any trigger that increases the rate of fire is illegal. While I doubt they will know the difference between a mil-spec and G$ trigger. They would absolutely push your shit in over something like this, unfortunately. Fuck that state. In fact, MD probably has the most broad definition of what's considered illegal.
CA is a close second and probably tied with Hawaii for the worst trigger laws.

SilenceDobad76@reddit
So are these legal or are they still in a gray area?
Swanky_Gear_Snob@reddit
Depends on the state. There are 8 states where this would be illegal, and 2 more where it would be super sketch. Know your local laws. ATM federally, they are legal.
BearSharks29@reddit
The nail that sticks up gets pounded, I would suggest if you're very risk adverse to skip it, and otherwise follow all laws and rules to a T.
azgunnit@reddit
The super safety even exceeds FRTs at clearly being semi-auto only since the safety is engaged then disengaged in between every trigger pull.
BearSharks29@reddit
That's true, but again don't expect a cop or a prosecutor to know this or care if you find yourself in the position where they feel it's in the public interest or their own to try to prove you're actually breaking state and federal law by owning a "machine gun".
azgunnit@reddit
Right but that's off the current topic of this comment thread of "are these legal..."
The question wasn't "will these draw attention".
BearSharks29@reddit
The person asking wants to know if owning one will get him in trouble, not what the likelihood of a court deciding he actually was allowed to have it after paying 10s of thousands in legal fees and spending a bit of time behind bars.
azgunnit@reddit
They literally asked "are these legal or a grey area" not any of the extra stuff you are reading into it.
BearSharks29@reddit
ok thanks
Winnah9000@reddit
FRTs are currently legal per the final ruling of the court that reversed the ATF's "single continuous pull" wording and instructed the ATF to return all seized property. That has been appealed, but will take a while for any updates to it and their argument remains the same so should have the same outcome.
Winnah9000@reddit
DN is good to go in my experience. The "higher end" option is AS Designs, but they cost a little more. Grey Market Research is also good to go, haven't had an issue with them either.
fourleggedpython@reddit
Are these going to have an issue like the frt's did a few years back?
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
https://www.reddit.com/r/supersafety/comments/1gpzkgg/current_legality/
BearSharks29@reddit
Is there any evidence that ATF actually confiscated FRTs from end users?
Slaine777@reddit
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
BearSharks29@reddit
Yeah, I don't think any end users actually got their trigger taken. Like show me one of those videos and I'll show you a hoax video.
I think Dimondeo or whatever Rare Breed's owner's name is had his inventory taken and the few retailers who actually carried them, I don't dispute that at all, but I am very skeptical of the claim that any consumer got their trigger taken, visited by the ATF or were even sent a letter.
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
Just read the case any reputable news source. You don't have to rely on social media and YouTube. The courts deals with facts and in this case ordered the ATF to return triggers they confiscated from individual gun owners.
From https://www.ammoland.com/2024/08/atf-requested-stay-denied-in-force-reset-trigger-case/
CloudysLover@reddit
They've 100% confiscated FRTs, particularly the Wide Open Trigger (WOT) sold by Big Daddy Unlimited. Fuck that company
BearSharks29@reddit
How do you know? Do you know someone who had theirs taken away?
CloudysLover@reddit
BearSharks29@reddit
Somebody you know? I'm open to being wrong, I just have seen videos of this that have turned out to be hoaxes that the internet has then run with.

KiloS91@reddit
Your $1.10 filament 4140 steel?
PrismTank32@reddit
No one is out here doing precision shooting on full auto.
pm_me_your_rasputin@reddit
Hang on, I gotta reload my safety for the 3rd time this range trip
KiloS91@reddit
I made a “snarky” comment because you made a silly comparison. Not everyone has a 3d printer, I think that adds to the cost of your $1.10 filament, but I didn’t do the rest of the math. I have no idea what a decent 3d printer costs.

SuperXrayDoc@reddit
I only bought the cam since I cut my own trigger but it's worked flawlessly. I have seen a few people post some issues about their triggers but that's because the spec sheet for the rounded side of the trigger is too shallow. This causes the trigger to not reset properly. You just need to sand off a little bit to make it rounded out. I'm not sure if this is a widespread issue however

I get this is a metal version, but this was designed by Hoffman Tactical and intended to be 3D printed. Also got his home raided by alphabet gang back when they were doing whatever the fuck they felt like.
thestug93@reddit
You can 3d print these, but that lever takes a beating under live fire and the plastic ones don't last... Allegedly...
bi-nary@reddit
I'm sure they don't. But ... would not take much to print a handful at a time. Or learn to cast yourself
thestug93@reddit
You'd need to disassemble the grip to replace levers and safety barrel. So I suppose that's possible, but rather annoying to have to do after 200 rounds or so.
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
I think I recall someone claiming the 3D printed ones may work for about 200 rounds. I don't own a 3D printer and have never used one. I think I read the 3D printed design that allows selection of normal semi-auto is more likely to have issues due to material so they is one that has fewer options for operation mode. That is not a issue with the metal ones.
bi-nary@reddit
I'd be surprised if they lasted even that long depending on what materia used to print them
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
I have no experience in 3D printing but I imagine that's true. I was surprised to learn recently that someone can legally make their own suppressor after getting ATF approval by buying components off of Amazon and then 3D printing part of the suppressor using more durable material. Someone on a YouTube channel that covers this material was featured on a different channel. The individual does a lot of testing and he's tested some 3D material that is durable and not extremely expensive.
bi-nary@reddit
I have 3d printed quite a few things firearms related. Can't complain
YXIDRJZQAF@reddit (OP)
Hoffman hasn't had his home raided, that was twin bros, and we never got confirmation as to why. they were doing other weird shit including apparently importing parts from china(?)
bi-nary@reddit
You're right it was twinbros. Slept since then
BearSharks29@reddit
Now I don't know really but I feel like the raid is probably a hoax, just like most if not all of those supposed ATF agent visits to people who bought FRTs.
bi-nary@reddit
Yeah I wasn't trying to imply anything about the legality of these. I more want to see Hoffman get his due from people profiting from his design
BearSharks29@reddit
I think Hoffman's deal is he released it as open source, so anyone can make it and profit from the sale of the device.
I don't think his goal for the SS was to actually make any money at all.
bi-nary@reddit
Yeah that is true. Is is open source
hitstuff@reddit
There's was also a massive debate if they were actually raided, or staged it since they were behind in orders, and didn't refund anyone.
YXIDRJZQAF@reddit (OP)
how would you even go about that? there is video on ring cameras from the neighborhood posting about it?
hitstuff@reddit
Rewatch the video dude.
https://ring.com/share/9c6a6aa8-c0ae-41ec-b360-a400dd22012d
The only way you could argue that it was a raid was from the obvious SWAT vehicle. It didn't show a raid, it showed random cars + SWAT vehicle driving by. These type of neighborhood drama videos are easy to come by because nosy Karens love to post share them on Ring community sites.
It was also posted by a user that was brand new at the time of posting (March of 24), and who's only Karma is from the two main TwinBros posts at the time. The account also hasn't seen ANY activity since then.
YXIDRJZQAF@reddit (OP)
IIRC one of the devices they were selling was a DIAS for MAC clones or AKs? but I also remember there is some law against importing gun parts manufactured overseas too? I'm not sure but it's very grey and I haven't seen any updates on it.
ShowMeYourFeet87@reddit
Twin bros was raided for selling straight up full auto parts kits for 3D printable guns. The supersafety was designed by Hoffman explicitly around the atf’s rules they issued in regards to why forced reset triggers were machine guns. The super safety, in an honest world free of fraud, is impossible to legally classify as a machine gun.
