The 2024 Donkervoort F22 Final Five ends the series with just five cars, featuring carbon-fiber wheels, a 500-hp Audi 5-cylinder engine, and a 716 kg (1,578 lbs) weight for 0-100 km/h in under 3 seconds.

Kind of a long hood for a 5 cylinder
dallatorretdu@reddit
don’t look at it like as a normal car. Look at it as a Lotus 7 licensed derivate.
L3sh1y@reddit
Why would you look at a carbon monocoque supercar as a 7 derivative? Its the equivalent of saying "look at this formula 1 car as a go-kart derivative"
Fun-Caregiver-424@reddit
That’s because it is. Or should I say inspired by. https://www.donkervoort.com/en/the-story-of-us/history/
L3sh1y@reddit
I am familiar with the history, i have also witnessed them being tested by our sports car journals after track days. How is "inspired by" the same as "derivative"? Is the modern mustang a derivative of the 60ies one? Not having single bolt in common? Or more of a spiritual successor?
A caterham 160 is in a way a derivative of the old Lotus 7, since it shares most of the construction but modernized, like a live rear axle and low weight, small engine config. A 620r still looks like it, yet is a modern and pretty different frame construction and features completely different suspension mechanics. A completely and utterly newly designed platform like the Donk has nothing left in common but a common ancestor and the RWD layout. Not even the Caterhams achieve over 2G lateral, and very few supercars do.

Wow. Great read. Amazingly expensive
pjsssjas@reddit
It’s beautiful, but I’d have to back into all parking spots. No way I’d go in front first and risk damaging the front
Canelosaurio@reddit
This thing is pure automotive aggression.
Smallp0x_@reddit
Stuffed behind the front wheels for better handling
locutus92@reddit
I'd rather just get a Lotus 7 or even a Locust/Westfield and enjoy the change.
lucian1900@reddit
It's a 7 derivative anyway.
L3sh1y@reddit
What do you mean, a 7 derivative? Full carbon monocoque and nothing to do with a traditional 7 except the front-mid-engine, sit-on-the-rear-axle-layout? Except its ofc not an axle, but an independent suspension. Cmon, this amount of ignorance is shameful. Its like saying the current Lamborghini Revuelto is "a Diablo derivative". No, its a completely different car, from the ground up, woth nothing left in common with its predecessors
CapybaraPin@reddit
Donkervoort originally was a 7 importer and started doing their own thing on the side so while it may not be technically a 7 derivative it’s one in the philosophical/historical way
L3sh1y@reddit
Of course they are. But technically, they have as much in common as a Go-Kart with a F1 car.
1978shorty@reddit
With 45 years of relentless development and improvements it's only the 7 silhouette that remains.
Actual-Money7868@reddit
I wouldn't even attempt to drive that.

For people that fellt like a BMW Z3 didn't go far enough at looking like an upside-down penis.

I goddamn love this overall shape. The details…maybe not so much…my tastes trend more toward luxury and saloon trappings…but the overall rake and stance are something I’ve always craved in my cars.
Vehicles like the F12, C4-C6 vettes, and the newest 12cilindri…all with the long hoods and slung-back cockpit. Hell yeah.
