People think Russia isn’t a power anymore but just look at what they are using 1960-1970 tanks and his b team of troops.

It's funny, because they were using more modern tanks earlier on. And the "elite" VDV wasn't considered part of the "b team of troops," at least not before they took heavy losses in Ukraine.

But let's suppose you're not horribly wrong. At the barest minimum, over 71,000 Russian soldiers have been identified and confirmed to have been killed in Ukraine, according to a late-September report by the independent Russian media outlet Mediazona. The actual number is almost certainly much higher, but let's go with this, for the sake of discussion.

Russia has had nearly 3 times the deaths in 3 years in Ukraine as the Soviet Union had in over 9 years in Afghanistan. And that's a very conservative estimate for the Ukraine conflict being compared to the higher estimates for Afghanistan.

If Russia is only using its "b team" this long into their 3-day operation, without achieving their objectives, it's either because the "a team" is dead, or it's the worst, most deadly incompetence the world has seen in ages.

Depending on size and location, the effects won't necessarily be contained within Russia's borders, but typical wind patterns would most likely keep any fallout contained as winds are typically west-to-east in that area. But, if any is detected in Poland, the Baltics, or Scandinavia, that's when things get interesting. There's been statements for over a year that NATO would consider fallout in NATO member territory a clearly-met criteria for the NAC to invoke A5.

What in gods name is a tactical nuclear weapon going to do against a nation in trench warfare with next to no infrastructure left? It does not matter if they are duds or not, US has a launch on warning policy, so even duds being launched will invoke retaliation. And we can be assured that out of the thousands of weapons they have, there are still at least enough that aren’t duds that it will wreak massive damage. Not to mention China would need to make a decision whether to take the opportunity to make moves of their own.
