Height limit

Hi I am 18 and 195cm. I want to work commercially and ideally fly for British airways. My only question is what planes could I fly/not fly during too my height? Will this be a very limiting factor. Could I fly an a320?

6’5” for my fellow yanks

Tbf, that helped me too. I’ve only ever used imperial for height. I love our funny combinations of measurements

Divide the cm's by 2.54 to get inches then divide that by 12 to get feet.

You’re doing god’s work.
nil_defect_found@reddit
Yes.
Some light aircraft might be a pain in the arse to get in and out of. Other than that, you're fine.
MontgomeryEagle@reddit
Yeah - this guy should train in a 182 if he has the cash.
Nighthawk-FPV@reddit
I’m 194cm and have no issues training in LSAs (Bristells, PiperSports, Harmonies)
MontgomeryEagle@reddit
Al Mooney was 6'5", and Mooney's are apparently fine for super tall guys if they're not too broad. If someone is both tall and broad, something like a 182 makes sense.

I know flight schools like l3harris have a 191cm Limit I how strict is that?
MontgomeryEagle@reddit
Who would fly with L3 Harris after that debacle?
My guess is that limit is due to them wanting to put people in 150/152s

Could you tell be more about that ‘debacle’? I don’t know if you meant debate but I wanted to go l3harris but idk now.

Oh right thanks
LonguesSurMer@reddit
I’m 198cm and haven’t run into any problems. You’ll be fine

Honestly man I have never seen a flight school with a height limit (in the United States at least, no idea about other countries)
Lpolyphemus@reddit
I’ve flown with a guy who was 205 cm. Couldn’t stand in the hotel elevator without ducking, but fit just fine in the 757 cockpit.
rotardy@reddit
I’m 6’6 and the 320 is very comfortable. You’ll be fine.
Guilty-Ad-6866@reddit
I’m 6’2.5 and have never had any problems in small training aircraft I’ve been in a an a350w flight deck and a 777 flight deck and there pretty big. The only plane I’ve never flown is a Cessna 152 but most schools offer training in a 172 anyways
MontgomeryEagle@reddit
I have 1 friend who is 6'5" and about 240 who now flies 737s and used to fly A320s. Another who is 6'4", 250, who flew A320s before switching to 767s. Both loved flying the A320. You will not have a problem at all.
Dalminster@reddit
I've met professional airline pilots who are my height (204cm) or even taller.
You should be fine.
InGeorgeWeTrust_@reddit
Not that tall man 😂
Dalminster@reddit
195cm is pretty tall, dude. Not as tall as me - 204cm - but it's still fairly tall.
FlyingLongHorns1@reddit
Tight fit in an Archer or Seminole…other than that, you’ll be fine.
Mynoseispurple@reddit
The only height issue you’ll run into is fitting into a trainers. But if you get passed that, you’re good to go
Capt_Avi8or@reddit
My FO yesterday was 6’7”, we did 7 hrs of flying in an a A321 and he seemed completely comfortable as anybody else I’ve flown with.
In all the aircraft I’ve flown, the A320 is probably the most accommodating of any body type/height/reach/whatever you might be as the seat is adjustable in every way imaginable.
nil_defect_found@reddit
That sensation of the lumbar support retracting as you move the knob backwards is one of my little pleasures. Some people leave some seemingly absurd seat/armrest settings for you to get in and find.
CannonAFB_unofficial@reddit
I'm a 6'4" traitor and could pour myself into a T-38 no problem. Ive also flown various widebody jest in my career as well. You'll be fine.
saxmanB737@reddit
There’s no height restrictions for flying.
x4457@reddit
You will be fine in everything.
